Fascinating. It's almost as if the contradictory opinions here about VapersTek UK-sourced liquid nic versus Heartland, WizardLabs, and other liquid nics were held by two entirely different "species" of vapers.

One "species" finds the VT nic to be clear (in color, smell, and impact) in a way they love. VT's "transparent neutrality" is wonderful to them, and the other nics are experienced as adulterated, with color, smell, and/or flavor they don't like.

The other "species' finds the color, smell, and flavor of the various other nics to be perfectly OK and not unpleasant. They may even find the VT nic "bland" or uninteresting by comparison.

Who's right? Apparently that depends on which species one happens to be. My best guess is that none of the vendors---VT, Heartland, Wizard, and the others---need worry about sales of their liquid nicotine collapsing tomorrow.

Pepper, or whatever is in WL gave me what I was missing. I never thought of it as pepper, just a good "Mouthful" kind of thing.

I'm no expert by any means but...isn't the peppery mouthful kind of thing kerosene remnants or other leavings in the nic from the extraction process?

I'm really just guessing that's the case, experts please chime in. Even if it is, I'm sure it's still waaaaay better than the 9 million carcinogens in cigarette smoke, but to me the taste is bad and I only want nic in my nic.

Got me. I'm no expert. Kinda thought the peppery Was the nic.

I'm glad I like Wizard's nic because the owner and operator is a long time vaper from the forums.

That can't be the case, because clean unflavored nic exists. Again, guessin because I have no idea what I'm actually talking about. :)

And I agree, John at WL is a hellova guy. Great customer service and selection. I still use them for a few flavorings, measuring stuff and assorted whatnots, just not the nic anymore.

Have you given him opportunity to address the pepper/kerosene issue?

My problem WL and HL was not so much the taste, (although there is a definite "taste" to both of them) but with the fact that they both made me cough. Kind of a dry, back of the throat, must drink more water cough.

I first thought this issue was due to the PG and started mixing mostly VG. About 10/90. It helped, but not that much. When I started using VT, the problem disappeared. (Using the exact same recipes and ratio mixes as before.)

I thought that it may have been my personal physiology until I checked with my sister (I make her juice) and she, and my niece (make hers too) had the same issue. With the VT, I don't cough at all, my sister coughs "much" less (she may need to drink more water) and I haven't had a chance to check with my niece yet.

I thought the pepper taste came from oxidation of nic? But that's just something I read somewhere.

Makes sense, I guess I've never had nic old enough to do this. What's your opinion on where the peppery taste comes from?

I had a conversation with a chemist at Enthalpy once about that very thing. He is a medicinal chemist with expertise in nicotine. He thought it might be from trace non-nic alkaloids (myosmine was the one that tends to be present more than the others). It also could be trace extraction solvent. The highest I found was MFS vintage 2010, and it also had a distinct alkane taste. But I don't think it has ever been firmly established where the pepper effect comes from. Of course high enough nic will also give pepper.

That's funny. I got the small bottle of VT just to try it out. I think it's too bland to vape unflavored. I've been vaping Heartland unflavored sometimes and enjoying it. The heartland has a bit more bite to it, I get no unpleasant taste or smell from it. It's not strong, just barely noticeable. Unlike my RTS -
I've had a working bottle of RTS out of the freezer for about 6 months and it's turned rather unpleasant. I also found a small bottle of Wizard Ice in the back of my vape box, it's got to be just as old and tastes great.

Some RTS I have used had a bit of game to it, but as unflavored, I like that. Something satisfying to me about a bit of funk. Whatever it might be making it.

WL to me still is low pepper, but faint caramel and hay. I'm using it these days, just because its the bottle I pulled out of the freezer.

Plan on trying some VT before long, post paycheck. Sounds like another distillation-after-extraction nic.

Seriously? You're saying I should call John and ask him to sell clean tasting nic? I'll pass. If VT nic gets peppery, then I'll find another clean tasting nic.

You make it sound as if WL has some intentional motive to sell inferior nic. Yet you don't even have the gull to call or email and ask John @ WL why he won't source this magical UK nic for his customers. Maybe if you did contact him he could educate you on why he chooses to sell this dirty tasting nic so many vapers raved about prior to VT opening shop. Maybe having the background he does and having spent lots of time and money on research he might enlighten you.

Are you feeling OK? It's coming across like you are upset that someone enjoys and buys nicotine that isn't from WL.

If I like beef from White's Meat Market, why would it take gull to call Country Meat Market and ask them to start carrying the magical cow I like from White's? I'm rephrasing what makes me wonder if you're feeling well.
