Vidi, I'd be curious to see what results you get with the MFS nic by adding a little vinegar? I find it balances it, when I care to do so anyway, sometimes I don't

Wolcen...lol

Easy T: hows that ECX treating you?

I have been playing a lot with VG/PG ratios lately, and distilled water and PGA too. I don't personally find PG to give TH, but more a strange irritation, but I suppose it is a kick in its own right. But it does seem to make flavors brighter. I was trying to find a VG/DW/PGA ratio that could equal the flavor boosting properties of PG, and got pretty close. I need to keep playing with it though. Wasn't doing this for any reasons of PG sensitivity (I have none), I just prefer the taste, or lack of taste, of VG to be honest. I think I got close with 10% PGA and 5% DW, the rest VG. Still different though. The VG base seems to creater a richer, darker flavor, the PG a brighter, almost 'metallic' or solventy flavor. But the PGA does quite a bit to bridge the gap IMO, I think its the ethanolish notes in PG that are responsible for the flavor boost. I know a lot of people say VG mutes flavor, the way I think of it now is that PG boosts flavor (and adds some undesirables for me), while VG is more neutral and flat.

Although I have been DIYing for nearly a year, Ive bought in such great quantities from Box Elder that the MFS nic juice I purchased was the first time Ive used someone elses base.I received 60ml of xtreme vaping juice yesterday and plan to mix some up either later today or tomorrow. Then my normal 3 days to a week steep and Ill give it a try.I will however vape a little straight juice first to see what, is any taste it has.

I dont find the idea of adding vinegar to the juice to make it work, acceptable. Id prefer to use nic juice as is from the vendor. To my mind, that is a better juice. But hey like I said, not a LOT of experience with different nic juices.

I want to thank you again for this thread. I was having trouble finding nic juice vendors and now I have several I will be trying to find the base that works best with my mixes. My mixes can get quite complex. I have at least two juices I mix that I have to mix two "mixes" of four flavors , let them steep a week, then mix them together at the proper ratio and then steep yet another week before the taste I prefer comes out. Like I said, my mixes become quite complex.

Oh I agree! Thing is, I do like MFS for certain things, and I also have a ton of it, so for banishing the alkalinity I'm finding the vinegar works pretty damn good, even tones down the nose burn somehow

I also have MFS but I only vape at 4mg, so in a way I like the little bit of scratchy-peppery-whatever taste it has because my nic is so low. I did get the ECX nic 2 months ago, have made several bottles with it, it is very good and does not have a peppery taste at all. I've been mixing and shipping lots of juices for a friend who works in Europe on a cruise ship, she vapes at 12mg and she likes the MFS the best, she says she wants as much scratch and pepper as she can get LOL.

Totally see where you're coming from stashbldr, IMO the nicotine level one vapes it is a HUGE factor and what they'll find desirable or tolerable.

Most of the 'notes' I pick up in all these nics start to wane at 18mg or so, and pretty much (for me) vanish around 12, especially if there's flavor involved. So its only because I tend to vape around 20 and sometimes need higher that I even embarked on this insanity (heck its fun too, not gonna lie :) )

That's pretty cool that your friend can get the pepper blast at 12mg, my buds are probably fried from all these 33mg antics lol. She would probably love the wizard labs as well, its right in the same ballpark.

Glad you like that ECX, its so damn clean, and I love that a great guy like Linnx has such a great product

and welcome, very glad to have you visit :)

Hey Cv thanks a lot for your assesment and thoughts on PG. It really got me thinking about it in different terms than what I had been previously.

As I mentioned earlier I vape strictly VG juice. I do so for no other reason than a preference for it's flavor profile. I tend to "feel" that VG flattens flavors more than mutes them, but that may just be a case of semantics. As far as PG goes I like you have no negative reaction to it or aversion really. I just never thought it brought much to the party.

I had been working on making a chocolate/peanut butter for my wife. Her juice has 0 nic and she's never smoked. She vapes strictly for a bit of flavor and to curb her sweet tooth. Anyway, After reading your post I decided to take it from 100% VG to a 50/50 and I was amazed and surprised at the results. It really did brighten it up. It also seemed to bring out some nuances that weren't there previously. It had some negative effects as well, but I need go over it some more before I can determine exactly what was happening that I didn't care for there.

ECX is some seriously good nic. Any nic than brings nothing but itself to the party is a great one in my book!

last thing.. what is DW? I want to try your PG replacement, but you lost me there. :p

Hey Easy

DW is distilled water, nothing special :)

Have you ever vaped straight PG, zero flavor zero nic? Doing a lot of straight PG and straight VG gave me a sense of what each brings, or doesn't bring. Also revised my sense of what I *thought* each brought to the table. I've ended up feeling that PG actually tastes sweeter to me and more alcohol like (I had absorbed the idea from somewhere that VG is actually sweeter, but that doesn't seem right for me). That might help you sort out the negatives in your 50/50 mix

And I can live with "flattening" flavors :)

Yup, it's confirmed..I'm a dumb ...! lol

And Holy Sweet Juice Cyrus Vapman! I took your suggestion and I tried some straight PG and you are quite correct! Alcoholy syrup, or syrupy alcohol which ever you prefer. I was under the impression that VG was the sweeter of the two as well. I can now most certainly confirm that is in fact not the case. And I can a very pronounced alcohol as well.

There is something else going on there as well that I still haven't put my finger on. I tried a 80/20 of a juice that I normally vape at 20/80 and for me it ruined it. And maybe it's just the alcohol and sweetness that's doing it. I'm a little bummed though as it's a flavor base that has been discontinued and I don't have much left.

Now you need to get busy editing every instance on the internets that states VG is sweeter than PG and Oh boy there are al lot!

See what happens! You actually get empirical about something and then all of a sudden it all turns upside down LOL

If I even try to tell anyone PG is sweeter I'll get trolled and banned, see what happened when I didn't like ONE nic? HAHAHAHA

When I was going at this pretty hard for a few days, I started to feel like it was really flavor dependent. I had one clove juice that was just better with high VG, and one tobacco that was just better with high PG. I guess I slowed down on the experiment because I realized it would throw all of my mixing into a frenzy of not only trying different flavor percentages but also different VG/PG ratios, and man, as if it wasn't hairy enough lol

I'm off to Reddit to tell the truth! LOL

That's pretty funny because after my "taste testing" of PG I had the exact same reaction! In my head it was something along the lines of " Oh $#%@ing great! Do i really wanna redo all these flavors with different PG/VG ratios?"
