In view of the fact that medications based on nicotine are in the FDA pipeline for approval to treat several conditions (Attention Deficit, Depression, Alzheimers, etc.) would this vaccine be ethical? Presumably it would make this particular class of medications ineffective for those who have been vaccinated.

The ethical dilemma presented by the contraindication of this vaccine for those that are affected by diseases that show promise in treatment with nicotine makes this a much more complex issue that I've not seen any indication of acknowledgment from the researchers in question. And of course the media hasn't stopped to recognize it yet either.

That's the particularly disturbing aspect of the zeal with which this vaccine is being approached, imho.

Oh, and if anyone tries to come near my kid with this crap they'll get to see Mama-Bear pretty darn quick ... and a mandatory vaccine, we'll be moving to someplace where the blinders are off (or into the mountains, one of the two).
