Agreed, 0.28 was way to low for me even though it says it can handle 0.25 it was just nuts, i actually made a 1.1 ohm build and i felt like it "may" be my new favorite build for it.

I just bought some UD 26+32 gauge Clapton Wire 15ft., will be my first clapton's ever, looking forward to seeing what the hype is all about, and I have some 26+32 gauge 316 Stainless Steel Clapton's 15ft. on the way for my RX200 SS TC Builds!
I really enjoy fused Clapton's, so much so I started making my own which really isn't hard if you have the right tools.

Drill
Fishing Spinner (good quality ball bearing)
Wire

Loop the inner wire around the spinner (lube up the bearing on the spinner with some oil like olive oil) and tighten ends with the wrapping wire in drill chuck. Start slow then let her rip.

The spinner works great, I've been using 30/34 fused in my Cricket and have been making 32/36 fused for my SquapeRs, just awesome.

How are you holding the spinner? I've seen vice setups, and those seem like they would work well but might be a pain. I've been thinking of rigging something to the wall so I could pull away from that.

I saw Grimm Greens clapton build setup and it does seem easy enough and i do have a drill in my room for twisted coil builds but with clapton's and alien wire and T-Rex, Monkey Banana, ant hill builds ("Attempting to be funny") etc., i'd rather spend $7 every 3 months for 15ft. of the Fused Clapton's, regular Clapton's, 316 SS Clapton's etc. its just easier for me and one less thing i have to do and with 2 babies, a wife, and a 10 hour job M-F i get an hour to myself a day and i'd rather spend it vaping and watching netflix or reading then building.

I just put a wood screw on the side of my desk and have the spinner there. As long as you keep the tension it wraps pretty easily. Then when done I clip the wire from the spinner, hold that end with pliers, reverse the drill slowly for a bit to straiten.

Works pretty well, watch Grimm Green's video on it, that's where I got the idea.

Yeah that is where I got the idea, it really does work rather well. I like smaller gauge claptons for tanks and the 30/34 gauge fused works really, really well with the Cricket. Only pre-made fused I can find is 26/32 and for a sane build for my Cricket only RDA's I can fit that on is my Vesuvius which is a 30mm RDA, too damn big for the Cricket.

I can wrap a good foot to foot and a 1/2 of 32/36 in under 5 min's, using the spinner really does make it very easy

Thanks @r055co I appreciate that video! I had seen it a long time ago, and had totally forgotten about it. Sinking a screw onto my build table would be perfect! No need for a clamp. I'll hit up Dicks this weekend for the spinners and clips. Thanks again!

Not a problems, as I mentioned for me 30/32 fused builds have been the best. Can easily build a .7 - .8 build @ 2.5 di wrap

Wondering if others are having buildups?

So I have been happy with my Noisy Cricket so much that I got a back up one in black as well as a black jaybo indestructable rda to match. One think I am noticing is the SMPL style button is getting blackened around the edges from what I believe is the electricity. But I am noticing the build up is happening so much that it makes the button only work when pushing hard on one corner of the button. I did take out the button and carefully scrape it with a razor but I am wondering if this is normal buildup on a mechanical?

@sandreecigalover I got both of mine for twenty bucks a piece. One took a while as it was gearbest but the other one I got fairly quickly from vapenw and has no issues with both orders.

Don't have the issue, but then again I break mine down every 7-10 days for a complete cleaning

It's probably just brass oxidation, which darkens the appearance. Clean the threads and the inside of the switch regularly with steel wool or the like. That's what I do with all brass electrical components in mods.

Oh, oil the bearing in the spinner, that's important. Use something like some vegetable oil, olive oil, etc. This way they spin a lot easier. I'm really liking the 32/36 fused I made, really brought my SquapeRs to a new level, running dual fused coils at 1.1 Ohm.

Here's the spinners I use,

Amazon.com : Yoshikawa Fishing Ball Bearing Swivel with Coastlock Snap, Welded Ring, Black Nickel, 30Lb to 250Lb (Pack of 20) : Sports & Outdoors
Good advise, veggie oil actually has better mechanical lubricating attributes than I realized. Still waiting for my NC to arrive, but from what I have been reading there might be an issue with juice from rda's (spitting out of the air flow) getting into the switch/fire button and causing arcing inside. Anyone experiencing this?

Arcing/pitting is an issue with all mechanical contacts, and worse with the lower builds used. Think hotwirering a car; unisolated connection-points...

Some state nooxid/deoxid/dielectrics will help and others say it won't. Try the products and else sand contacts/batteries... I get arcing all around my smpl switch too, even though perfectly cleaned...

Yea that is what I figured. Worked perfectly after I scraped it with an exacto knife.

I think that there would pretty much have to be some arcing as contact surfaces approach each other. But the point being expressed was an audible arcing that reduced the amount of vapor being produced. My understanding of electricity is limited so I'm not sure what the ramifications of that are. Wonder if that could be a precursor to a short or just reduced efficiency?

Yes, occurs when connecting/disconnecting the circuit producing small sparks... The pitting produced through this effect(arcing) is non-conductive(I believe it's carbon-buildup) and hence, reduces contact surface area both from the pitted areas directly, but also from there now being an uneven surface further reducing contact surface area...
