Definitely look at getting a Volt kit from SmokelessImage. They have a sale going right now through Friday midnight that is 25% off everything in stock with the coupon code "VOLTDAD" - http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...sale-fathers-day-25-off-everything-stock.html

Grab the Pro Starter Kit, which comes with a portable charging case, so you can charge on-the-go. It also comes with a pack of cartos included. I suggest trying the Sweet Sampler pack which includes one cartomizer of Cherry, Vanilla, Chocolate, Grape and Watermelon. Check out their pre-filled cartomizer selection and see if there are any other flavors that might interest you - Smokeless Image | Only The Best Electronic Cigarette | Refill Cartridges If you like a certain flavor you can get more prefilled cartomizers, or buy bottles of juice to fill and refill cartomizers. FYI Cartomizers can be reused several times before they reach end-of-life.

That should get you started without too much initial investment or hassle. If you find that you like the experience, there are many many many ways to tweak your vape.

I don't believe so, but you may get better life on the battery overall. Even the sealed automatic batteries can get juice that leaks into it, which will kill your battery. Plus, you have more control over the draw with the manuals.

yes, sounds good

ThisIsTheStart, welcome to ECF

When I first opened this thread I couldn't believe what I was reading. a non smoker looking for advice on an e-cig, then I actually read the post. I do understand there is concern about e-cigs being a draw to non smokers, but hell at some point in our lives each of us where non smokers too.

We all picked up smoking for different reasons, mine as that is what I thought people did to help deal with stress in their lives. Why would anyone expect e-cigs to be different, the more people out there vaping the more of a real option it will become. I would rather my kid picked up a pv than a pack of smokes.

That's the idea =] I'd like to give e-cigs a shot and see if they work for me. If they don't help with compulsion/stress, I don't have to worry about the nicotine addiction that comes with real cigarettes, and I can look for alternatives. I hope to find a safe and enjoyable option for me. Thanks for understanding =]

I almost said something to discourage it, but decided to mind my own business. I really thought about it and decided that it would be silly to discourage her from something I think is fairly safe if she thinks that it could help her. I think the thing I (and I'm sure others) find threatening about things like this is that it could be used as ammunition against vaping. One of the things that opponents are always saying is that it will lure in non-smokers, which is generally ridiculous.

I think you made a wise decision. While I understand the importance of (it makes my face hurt to type this) showing some appeasement to the opponents of vaping, when offering such appeasement requires us to step away from the foundation of Truth, IMO the opponents will have priced it out of the market. You are right, their claim IS generally ridiculous. What vaping "lures in" are almost entirely either (a): adults who decide for reasons of their own that they would like to try vaping, or (b): people who just can't bear the thought of minding their own damn business... aka "opponents".

I have no problem with you trying/using the ecig to help with your compulsion. I personally don't give a rats behind what the opponents have to say about ecigs drawning in non-smokers. It's the individual, the actual PERSON that's really important. The nay sayers are going to find SOMETHING to say 'nay' to regardless. I really hope this works well for you! Either the Volt or the KGO would work well for you. And there's a world of yummy flavors out there, all in nicotine free juices, just waiting to help you with your problem. Happy Vaping! And Welcome to ECF!
