I dont feel its just me but Ill throw it out there.
Most who havent heard of or are just vaguely aware of a pv usually at some point in the conversation ask me if I plan on quitting altogether. I explain and define clearly that I have already quit smoking and now vape. I then go on to explain that no I dont becuase since I stopped smoking I can workout for as long as I feel I need to without getting winded. I sleep well. I dont cough anymore and in general feel no negative effects from using a pv.

After I tell them what is in e-liquid and that short of putting cyanide in there it could never be as harmful as smoking I always get this response.... But it has nicotine in It.
I then generally explain how nicotine in and of it selfis not that harmful to human beings in the doses we tend to vape and that in general it is a stimulant to us similiar to coffee yada, yada, yada.

I usually then declare that yes "I like my cake and eating it to!"

Honestly I see this as a hobby and enjoy the electronics of it. I love the different flavors! And short of these eventually getting as pricey as cigs I dont see me ever putting them down.
Anyone else feel the same way? If they ever do find some deathly side effect perhaps Ill reconsider. But if they are as harmless as I suspect then I beg the question why?

Why should I quit when Im having so much @#$% FUN! :p

I also have no intention on quitting vaping as I am not giving up my coffee either. Both are relatively harmless in my opinion and I enjoy both. Sometimes at the same time...lol. I love my coffee in different flavors, that's why I have a Kerig and I enjoy my vaping in different flavors so I make my own juice. Is a great hobby and I am having fun, so if you don't like it, too bad.

I've been lucky that most of my friends and associates seem to already know that the nicotine itself is not the worst part of analogs. While I've told then I'm not actually planning on quitting analogs completely, they've all been happy for me about the drastic cut back in analogs and none have asked about quitting the ecigs. My boss lets me vape at work and he's just happy that I don't get so cranky now when stuck on a long problem that I have to fix :)

I get the "Isn't nicotine bad for you?" question a lot. A quick way to dispel that rumor is to simply state the facts.. Nicotine resembles caffeine in a lot of ways... Both are stimulants, raising your heart rate. Both can cause anxiety when used in excess. Both are addictive. Nicotine probably moreso, but try telling a daily coffee drinker that they aren't addicted to caffeine.

Personally, if I don't have 1 or 2 caffeinated beverages a day, I feel sluggish, tired and get an atrocious headache. It's easier to overdose on nicotine than caffeine, but used responsibly by an educated individual, you can avoid most of the negative side-effects.

Basically what it boils down to, is that nicotine is one of the thousands of chemicals you find in burning tobacco. It is largely responsible for the chemical addiction. But it does not cause cancer. And using a PV is WAY safer than using a patch, and probably most of the FDA-approved NRT/cessation tools. It's not exactly healthy, but the effect of nicotine on a healthy individual is comparable to drinking espresso or Mtn. Dew. Flame away!

You and I are on the same boat! I love my coffee and I love vaping. Take those things away from me and see what happens! (Kitty...claws...RRRREEEEEOOOOWWWW!)

I hear you all!
after 12 good years of analogs I finally have
a healthier way of enjoying my bad habit
and now I enjoy only the good stuff from it
like tones of smoke (vapor) that don't stink :)
and with all the fine devices its much much more fun
than those nasty nic sticks and disgusting ashtrays :p
not planing of quitting any time soon :vapor:

My answer is very simple. If it hadn't been for e-cigs, I would still be smoking. These have been a life saver for someone like me who was compulsive about cigarettes and the routine I built around the habit of smoking. Somehow, and I am so very grateful for it, vaping has been able to replace that habit. If anyone ever tries to convince me that I should be quitting these anytime soon, I would be far more defensive about it than I would have been about being told I should quit smoking.
