Guys, I don't know if you want to hear this, but I switched to NiFe30 (to replace Nickel) and NiFe48 (to replace Titanium) from Zivipf.de and I couldn't be happier since:

Spaced-coils, micro-coild, everything works.

AMD....how's that insulator working out for you?? Has the "screw-down" positive post stopped the afc ring seepage??

I've rebuilt my wicks and coils a few times since then. Everything seems to be intact. Insulator is fine, AFC and LFC are working just fine. LFC turns when I want it to turn, not when it wanted to turn like before.

I'm havin' the darndest time wicking my Crius! I used rayon this time. I'm gettin' mediocre vapor and no air bubbles with the AFC wide open. :?:

I thought I was careful not to over stuff the juice channels. Back to the drawing board...
I'm using organic cotton in mine and really haven't had any issues. The one time I did have some dry hits, I had way too much cotton, trimmed it a bit and was fine. I wick it very similar to the way Mike does in the video, it's been posted before, but it works well for me. The only other thing I do on my wicks is to bevel cut the top of each leg slightly, just a little easier for me to put the cotton into the well.

The other thing I make sure and do, is after I juice the wick, is to make sure I don't have any cotton hanging or bulging(cotton love handles) on the deck. The air hole under the coil doesn't have a lip and could cause some liquid to seep into those air holes and cause some of that juice ring on the mod, underneath the tank.

I've been using a simple kanthal build 0.25-0.3 ohms and vape it at 38-42 watts, depending on the juice and flavor. I typically use 70%-80% VG and don't have any dry or burnt hits. I have tried 100%VG in it and it wicked a little slow at first, but once the tank warmed up a bit it was fine. The wicking in the video starts at 4:15. Hope this helps. :)

@jstrong
I think you unloaded that crius in dang near record time lol.
So you prefer the aromamizer?
Yes it did seem to sell quick. I have 2 of them so I will continue to use 1. I still prefer the Crius over the Griffin but as soon as I tried the Aromamizer I was hooked. The Crius is still a great tank and has moved to number 2 on my list. I am gonna rotate them both.

Here, I disassembled my Crius after two weeks of vaping. The insulator is intact. I took some measurements in case if somebody needs them.

The original center pin was replaced with my new threaded one. The old pin has to be pushed out, like this:

And, here is how I make them:

that's some impressive work. It's good to know that insulator is holding up. Doesn't look like there is even a hint of heat damage!
It sucks that you had to go through so much effort to make the Crius be the way it should have been designed from the start. Maybe the next version will be done correctly.

Where are you getting your NiFe wire?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
A got a few feet from a friend here on ecf. He got it from zivipf. It's called NiFe48 by them but is actually NiFe52 Alloy and has been verified as such by techheads here on ecf. 52%Nickel,48%Iron
NiFe48 Wire 0.45mm / .0177" / AWG 25

The stuff is great to work with. Wraps like kanthal, it's strong and is dryburnable. Works with contact coils as well.
