For cotton, to avoid dryhits, I wick tighter than the usual youtube reviewers and fluff/thin tails and keep them short as possible. The cotton should in theory choke the coil, but it doesn't and dryhits-avoidance/TC-stability is much better. I once saw an old youtube review doing this for max-vg at high wattage on the older RTAs several years ago and the idea was that even though cotton swells when wet, then the high heat actually makes it shrink. I don't know what the actual reasoning is, but just know that it works better and doesn't choke and actually works a bit similar to rayon, in that it can take higher heat and is more quiet in sound and last much longer. I also think this is why rayon lasts much longer, as there's much more material to breakdown as tighter built.

I like the engine nano, but currently use the dual-coil version more. Dual-coil to me gives more volume/body in the vapor inhaled, though not neccesarily more vapor.

Yeah, I found the same thing. Nothing I could put my finger on, but I always felt something was lacking. Tried several different coils, wicking methods, placement of coil, just not 'satisfying' at the end of the day. I put mine into my storage box. I like the tank, just don't love it after extended use.
Day to day, around the house tank was the Aromamizer Supreme, it's now the Aromamizer Plus.
Going out and about, the original OBS Engine.

Yeah I figured that on the first build, then i rewicked with various amount of wick, still dry hits on >3s draws, so eh i gave up. No big deal though, as the Engine is my current go-to tank when im out and about, and I use RDAs at home.
Do you have your wicks thru the holes and touching the bottom of the base? I find mine work best this way.

I keep hearing people mention the original OBS engine. I'm not in love with the nano either. Maybe the original will be my next purchase.
I have the original dual coil OBS Engine. It is my everyday carry tank on top of a Revenant. My other carry setup is an OBS Crius Plus on top of an R150. I really like the engine. Easy to build, flavorful and great flavor production with no leaking.

Seconded. Two Engines for my adv, and a Crius+ as well when I want my Strawberry juice. All great tanks. I do not have a nano so can't compare the single to a dual, but the duals are great for flavor and easy to build and wick.

I don't remember why but I put my crius+ in storage. I still run a regular crius. I just got a fuchai mini yesterday and am really liking it. The menu is super simple and it's really comfortable in the hand. It fits better than an evic mini.

No, it's sitting just inside the hole, just to clarify, i have 0 problems with my Engine Nano, the dry hits was about the previous RTA i use the Serpent Mini.

I put my Crius+ away a while back when I really didn't appreciate a big airflow sort of vape. Since I've moved to preferring a really easy, loose draw, the tank is back out and preforming beautifully.

That one looks nice too. I noticed it has preheat just like the fuchai mini. I know several have where you can set the peak watts on TC but the fuchai has a place to set the ramp time too.
Where did you read that? I can't wait for these to be available...

I just got a fuchai mini in the mail yesterday and always do a quick run through of the owners manual. You press the + and - buttons at the same time and it brings up a menu for watts and time in TC mode only. I looked at the link you posted and saw that it has the peak watts setting. I don't know if the primo has the time setting or not.

My next Mod... Should be a nice fit with my Nano's.
Authentic Joyetech eVic Primo Mini 80W Silver TC VW Mod

I'm interested in a wider and smaller mod for my Nano, for on the go. The Nano fits fine on my Vaporshark Switchbox DNA75, buts it's a little tall for pocket carry. I was considering the Smok AL85, but as a mostly TC vapor, was turned off by all the BAD TC reviews, and since it's been out for awhile now with NO firmware updates to "perhaps" fix those TC deficiencies, combined with never really liking most Smok products, this Primo Mini looks more promising. I mostly have gone back to strictly using DNA devices, since there is NO guessing about the TC performance. I'll wait for the TC reviews on this one as well.

The TC on both the Smok Alien and AL85 leaves a lot to be desired. I use both in watt mode. The advantage of SS builds, you can use on your DNA boxes in TC, and the others in wattage. I also don't find the TC on the Pico anything to write home about either. In comparison, in my subjective experience, I found the RX200s and Presa 100 to have serviceable TC. Unlike some reports, with 0.25-0.5 ohm SS builds I never got dumped out to watt mode. Granted, both are back in their boxes as part of my stash as I'd rather use my DNAs, but they're still nice backups.
