Funny this comes up once again.

Got my Odin back from Craig on Friday. Immediately set it up with dual 6 wrap 29ga wire netting .5 ohms and have been in vaping bliss ever since. Nice job Craig!!

Last night started having a little performance degradation. Installed fully charged battery, checked post screws and no change. I was using a NET juice and the coils were getting a bit "gunky" so I figured it was time to dry burn and re-wick. Took the door off the REO to remove the battery and remembered the arcing dealio. Low and behold the VTC5 had serious spark going on.

Cleaned batt and firing pin, a dab of Noalox and all system go!!

Went to Amazon and Deoxit Gold Pen will be here Thursday.

Using nothing but AW IMR 18650 1600 mah and properly maintained contacts / batteries every press of the button consistently and efficiently delivers all the hard hitting thick vapor I could ever want and in a 2-3 second draw.

I do change batteries after about 3 ml of juice.

Here watch this vid. It will help you attain the same level of bad ayussessness that I have grown to expect every button push. It details keeping your mod clean, contact refurbishment and maintenance and of course battery care and how to protect em without greasy AYuss noalox :)

I know that there is arcing with all batteries and it happens with all batteries in the REO, I was just pointing out what was brought to light about 4mos ago by Quigsworth and Zmauls in the subohm thread. Quigsworth tested 4 or 5 different batteries in his devices and found the VTC5's to be the worst culprits of arcing. Sony changed something in the composition of the poles in the VTC5's along the line somewhere and it has been widely reported of performance problems with them. This has also been discussed in the battery forum here as well.

As I said, I use CGR's and HE2's in my grands along with De-Ox-It Gold and have the new contacts installed and I don't have any visible signs at all. No pitting on my batteries, no performance issues, nothing. I did however have arcing when I had the old contacts in my original grand and vaping below .6Ω and was the reason I changed to the new ones.

Thanks for the info folks..kinda freaked. Never heard of arcing until now  And got half way through Super X's cleaning vid but had to go to work but so far, very informative. I don't have that pen stuff, just Nolax tho.

Noalox will work fine. It's just a little messier. You only need a tiny dab.

I've held back from commenting about the 2 Odin's I got last week until I had a chance to use them for a while. I'll keep it short and sweet, the Odin with dual 1.0 ohm coils (0.5Ω overall) wicked with KGD on a Grand LP with a VTC5 is the best vape I HAVE EVER HAD hands down.
Simply amazing taste, vapor production, TH and bottom feeding. I truly thought the Plume Vail RDA was the best tasting dripper I had tried until I bought the Odin, this thing blows the Plume Veil out of the water IMHO.
Thanks so much Russ (super_X) for the heads up on this amazing atty.
Couldn't be happier :toast:

Seeing as they are starting to come in now, how is everyone liking the flavor from these compared to the RM2 ?

I was looking at the Plume Veil as well. If these are kicking the Plume Veil, I could get two for the price of one! But the big question is, does knock the RM2 off the pedestal ?

Also, is there a timeframe of when the Router DT will be available again ?

For me it did. The RM2 just wasn't really doing it for me for some reason. Maybe I was doing something wrong, I dunno. I am pretty new to rebuilding.

I wanted to LOVE my REO because in theory, you can't get much better IMHO. So, I started searching alternative BF atomizers just as people started reporting on the Odin, so I went for it.

I love it so much, that I'm now deciding if I want my second REO to be a SL or not.. just have to make that decision. Then I'll want a third REO, I'm sure.

Beats the RM2, Plume Veil and TOBH.

The SLs are really nice. I liked them when they first came out, but was low on funds, then forgot about getting a new one. Then a Mini 2.1 SL/LP popped up in the Trading thread and my Wife liked it. Once it got here I knew I liked them, but again funds were getting low. I finally just ordered one tonight in the same Hammertone that her's is.

Right now the only thing holding me back a few Odins is there are no Router DTs.

EDIT: Just got a reply from SoCalCraig. Just going to get the Odins now and will pick up the Routers when they release again.
