I'm running 4 wraps and have a 1.2ohm coil right now, I wrap my resistance wire twice around my silver wire and do a very light solder to hold everything together. Then I do my wire wraps around a big sewing needle, which gives me a very nice even but tight coil, then thread my 2mm wick through the coil. Picture how a 510 Atty looks when you look down at the coil inside from the top, also have my coil down low in the cup so the wicks wick up the liquid and it rolls right to the coil. I like the soldering of the two coil wire ends to the silver wire better then twisting and rolling it back and twisting it together again, so my coil looks just like a 510 Atty's and the solder joint also looks the same as in a 510 where the 2 wires are soldered together. This takes some time to perfect and get use to doing but for me this works best. Oh and I also put an o-ring over my mouth piece down onto the last top cap and use a soft 801 mouth piece.
I also find I dont have to run my control tube wide open like this, and keep it more on the shut side, it's like how getting just the right amount of liquid to a regular Atty works and gives you that perfect vape when its just right, my wick stays at the perfect wet-ness with this type of coil set up, airflow is tighter too and draws more air to the coil which is a good thing when running more on the closed side if not closed rather then wide open like many run it.
Different stroke for different folks I guess but I get a much better vape and flavor with this set up rather then the lose further apart coil and I dont taste wick this way only more flavor. It's kind of fun trying different set ups to see what works best on this Ody.
