Have setup my Ody twice now using the pre made wires.

First attempt worked fine, but had the most awful taste, and remembered many suggesting to cook the ceramic with a blue flame first. Which I did not do. And I didn't clean the tank at all.

So I took it apart, cleaned everything with hot water. Burned/cooked the ceramic. Put it together and it's better, but there is still an off taste. I am pre wetting the wick. I am making sure the juice control is open.

My Pene was way better, and I did not clean anything with first use.

yeah, i have the same issue. i also cracked one ceramic by cooking it too long so be careful. cooking it seemed to help tho...not sure its completely gone but its getting there.

Im guessing it does away the bottom part of the AD with the 510 connection. connected directly to a telescope and screwed all the way down. So the ody positive connection directly touches the battery.

Hmm seems to be a good idea, but will the AD work like that? the bottom cap and button doesnt seem to be airtight.

Edit: Im so gonna test this out tonite.
your on the right track.

Well I dropped my beloved Ody :( Nice scuff on the side of the tank. Would this require some aggressive buffing to remove? It's not that deep, can't even feel the scuff, but looking at it drives me crazy :) Maybe just some flitz or something along those lines? Anyone have experience removing scuff marks like this?

For the best slip and thread grinding surface can impolzovat even car oil. Then, after the removal of the surface roughness can lubricate the threads with petroleum jelly Jalippo.
Does Noalox do the trick as well, or is vaseline best way to loose threads?

try to put on a flannel cloth DIALUX VORNTX (brossage-polissage-avivage) - this is for rough polishing, and then to another flannel cloth - DIALUX BLANC.
I think these polishes will remove minor scratches.

If you have a dremel get yourself the buffing pack and get to work. It works great and gets rid of scuff marks

GUYS I FOUND OUT WHAT WAS WRONG WITH MY ODDY SET UP!!

The black plastic disk that goes on the center pin to screw into the housing, I put it inside the housing, so the center pin was making direct contact with the housing, since I would screw it all the way securely on the housing. I realized it now and am going to try to blow the dust off my oddy and see if I can build me a coil :D

Congrats! Sounds like you had one of those V8 moments. If you don't have an extra oring, you could wrap a small piece of wick around the stem. It should protect the ceramic and add enough space so the threads of pin aren't longer than the nut. You should be well on your way to a nic-coma!
