ana, the imperfections are not imperfections that you can see. Noone can see them exept you focus the item with a camera, as you did. These imperfections exist in every construction and they made from every cnc machine but they are invisible.

Now on our subject. If ceramic housing without the o-ring goes inside the base then the issue is with the depth of the base. Can you please messure the depth of the old and new base?

I dont know how I could measure the depth , I dont have calipers to measure that precisely. Im just going to wrap them all up and send them back and I will not talk of this anymore. Im not trying to cause problems, so I guess the problem is with me. Thanks for all the help.
You can use anything you have, insert it, mark it then measure it.
I wonder if the ceramic holder threads are getting started wrong, causing the 2 parts to cross thread. The Odys I have are easy to cross thread, and they can be joined a good distance before noticing the difficulty. When I'm not sure I inspect them for straightness, any wrong angle is an indication of cross threading is happening.

I'm sure no one thinks your causing problems. Relax on that thought please. You could put a tooth pick into base and hold along the threads till it reach's the bottom. Do that and measure the tooth pick or what ever you can use to do it, Measure both new and old and you will be fairly close to a decent measurement. Hope this helps.

None said that you have a problem from nowhere my dear ana. What I say is that maybe all the new bases have less depth than the first ones. The solution is not difficult at all. You can put a 3x1,5 o-ring under the center post and you will be ok.:)

Then I guess its me, because I cant get any of my rebuildable units to screw in past the edge of the 510 connection
Not that I am having an issue with this but just to point out that threading can be weird and not sure why this happens. But when I got my GGTS I was tinkering and wanted to put the Ithaka on with the GGTS full mode with top lid and adapter. Of my 4 Ithakas I can only get 2 of the Ithikas 510 bases to screw in fully into the adapter, the other 2 can only screw in a couple of turns.

Weird is that those same 2 bases screw in fine to my other devices.

Its all perfect, the best, etc.

thats not a problem too xtreme. Sometimes small pieces of metal after machining stays on the construction and they prevent the smooth screwing. Just screw -unscrew sometimes and problem will be solved
I am afraid If I screw too hard and force I will damage the threads. Like I said 2 work on the adapter and any other 510 the other 2 work fine on any other 510 just not the GGTS adapter.

As you know ana, I never delete posts exept they come from a troller. What I always do is to try to solve the problems that my customers have and I cant understand the meaning of your last post. It seems that you are angry without a reason.

If you read again my last post, I said that your problem exists. But I too said that your pics have no meaning because all constructions in the world have imperfections that you cant see and there is no reason to make threm perfect because the cost will go 10 times bigger without a real reason.

Ok, if your desision was to send all bases back to vasilis, I will go to vasilis to check them and see what the problem is. I will also try to make an online video opening your package and testing the bases

you will not damage them xtreme, just put a little force and they will screw well on adapter too. Of course dont screw them at once but a little by little

Imeo, You sure know your craft. So I said to myself "SCREWIT" and decided to follow your advice. Figured what's the worst that can happen... a messed up base and adapter. It worked :) and I was able to screw them together. Not as smooth as the others but perhaps after a quick ultrasonic bath and some more polishing of the threads this will be smooth as the others. Thanks for the  advise.
