Thank you Poppa!

It took some time and a little bit of fiddling... But we are officially in business! :toast:

ODY with XC-116 wick and a 1.3 ohm coil... Rocking my world

For the next one, I think I'll use an extra strand to make it just a little bit thicker. But I'm happy with the first attempt, I think it turned out pretty good.

So XC-116 will fit in ody with a little fiddling :) nice!

Due to XC-116 wick only being available to the US I've been trying to find an alternative ceramic wick. I found this online CeraTex 3130 Ceramic Fiber Twisted Rope 1/4" which costs 80c per foot and should unravel into 3 strands close to the right diameter. I was wondering if anyone's tried it before I order some on Friday?

All right... A lot of fiddling!

It started the way you see it in the top of the pic and ended up the way you see it in the bottom. Wrapping the coil around it was a lot of fun :). And making sure it stayed in the side channels of the ceramic cup was just a blast :)

But seriously... In the end, I just think it's worth it.

Imeo and Billypapa (e-smokeguru) - I've received my Odysseus today, unpacked it, cleaned it, took care of threads and o-rings, build up the atomizer, filled it up and started vaping.

I must say I was surprised that all this didn't even take 10 minutes from unpacking to vaping.
What I liked the most was having full control over the resistance while building the atty. By looking at the big amount of threads and videos you may think it's difficult. It really is not. I actually find it quite intuitive.

The result is absolutely amazing - the bar has been raised again!
I am a very impatient person and can't wait to get the full Odysseus - but I am in vape heaven right now which will make waiting a lot easier for me.

Thanks to both of you to make the quick delivery happen and for designing and building such a wonderful product!

I had troubles to get the original wick to work right for me. A single strain uses to get dry and in the iAtty I used 2 parallel strains. But the 2nd strain got cut by the nut as the slots aren't big enough, so I figured out something:
Take a single strain, form a loop, flatten the loop so that it still fits into the ceramic and wrap your coil around it - this creates lots of vapor and didn't run dry for me :p

Cheers Imeo - the Odysseus is an amazing atty! :toast:

Well if it gives good results in the end, all the fiddling is worth then

I made it all of an hour before I took mine back apart and had nextel 312 in it ;) go to Harbor freight, and get the $5 set of diamond files, there is a flat one in the bunch (shaped like a spear point), use it to only alter the sides of the channel in the ceramic, it doesn't take long, and no pressure is required while filing. If you test fit occasionally so it just snugly fits your good to go, Odysseus is AMAZING Imeo! FANTASTIC JOB, I do believe you've out done iAtty ;) and it's sexy too :)

Sorry for the crappy pics, I will take better ones, I didn't have time to set up my photo tent, but I will be doing a pictorial for Odysseus using my macro lens, so stay tuned folks :)

i think the biggest problem with the taste is a chemical residue thats in the oddy from new(milling oil or whatever). i built mine and quickly discarded and cleaned the whole thing. it reduced the chemical taste dramatically. but was still there. i took it completly apart a second time and gave the ceramic and its cup a good alcohol bath, rinsed, dried and it was gone completely. try this guys.

Oh I want to add that I LOVE :hubba: Odysseus' tip!!! Don't you dare make the hole smaller, it is absolutely PERFECT!!!!!! You did it perfectly to your style Imeo, simple, elegant and beautiful, just like the rest of the GGTS. Don't dare change a thing with the mouthpieces!!!!!!! The hole is perfect size!

Beautiful job on the machining too! Mine is smooth as glass :p

Well, it was new, before I used it and before I put any juice on it...

But thank you! :)

Lol, I know it was new, but compared with my new coils yours is sweet and clean ;)

Well, my Ody doesnt arrived today so I have to calm down my anxiety reading all your experiences.

Wow, awesome Rick! So, why didn't you tell me this earlier? :)

Standing by... Thanks.

Sorry I was busy playing :)

Fright, I did my best, to make it as long as I could... I tried to stick with Imeo's plan... I just can't live without the heat treated (kiln hardened) nextel. The E2 is definitely the next best thing, the flavor isn't the same, and I can detect the taste of the wick. (i've got a super sensitive pallet) I will say, it is very very very nearly flavorless, and better than any I have tried before. The hardened nextel is just entirely in a class by itself. :)
