I didn't use milk but I can say there was some black gunk on the ceramic between it and the metal. So I would try it without removing the ceramic and if the taste doesn't go away try to carefully remove it.

I usually hang out on the batt modders sub thread but I got one of these just the other day from Daniel @ Gentlemen's Reserve and just had to comment on this thing...I normally reserve judgement till after a good trial period but wow!, this is without a doubt the best investment I've made into vaping...it's tweekability, it's reliability, it's toughness...I'm now completely rethinking my future mod designs...because I'm particularly brutal on gear I make a mods that have atty's, carto's, fluxo's, (whatever I was enamoured with at the time) recessed inside the box/or whatever (not real big on tube mods, it's just a personal form factor thing)...batts, switches, meters and regs come and go, moving forward, it's all about the Ody and what I can fit it into...Imeo should have made a .... ugly cast iron version so I wouldn't feel so guilty burying it in a box with a bunch of electronics...well done.
crimp beads imo are awesome, but next i'm gonna try the 1x2, the 1x1's are quite fiddly, its probably more faff than twisting, but done right its more versatile and neater. So, I've got really big hands and fat fingers - been having trouble twisting these tiny little wires together. What are these 'beads' I see people talking about? Do they make connections easier and/or better? Drawbacks?
What is the best place to by Wicking and Coil wire.... Need a good site...
Nicely done....one of the best crimping jobs ever posted
100% agree. Now I have to give another try to the crimping beads but this time with the 1x2 ones.
Thanks Oddy great job.
Hold the phone! You can re-use coils? Please tell me how - just unwrap carefully and put on a new wick??
