by my calculations i can wrap a 1.5ohm coil on 32 guage or .20 at about an inch and a 1/4. 36 guage would be just over half an inch of wire that would make wrapping more than 1 or 2 wraps hard.
Its odd because it seems the thinner the wire the more resistance it has at least that what the specs show. 32 guage is 13-15 ohms per foot and 36 guage which is thinner is 32-36 ohms per foot.
Yes, thinner wire has more resistance. Think of the wire as a water tube and electricity as water. The smaller the diameter of the tube is the more resistance there will be.
But yes, 1.5 Ohm with a .13 Kanthal D (99 Ohms per Meter) will result in about 1.5cm of wire. Not really much.

Maybe I will try that with a single wick inside the coil and an additional wick outside of the coil, maybe fixed with NR wire. Hmm. *engineer mode on* - *walks away with vapor above the head*

Yes I am loving the .13 (36 AWG) kanthal but mine is just a tad higher ohms. As in 2.8 ohms!
