Im curious to hear about this 32g 2 wrap method, you done 30g too? i too am looking for .7-.8ohm single coils for my Ody...

post your rebuild notes and progress!

Well then I'm definitely going to have to get some. Just setup a 0.7-8ohm coil with 2 wraps of 32g and it's working really poorly in UFS ody mode, gna hve to rebuild it later xD

Anyone tried 28 or 30g kanthal in their odys? I was thinking about getting some to start wrapping some extremely low resistance coils for 3.7v vaping.

For example:

Take two pieces of 34 G or 36 G wire that meter out to 2 ohm each - then twist them together and wrap with that - they will then become 1 ohm. Heavier wire takes to much to fire.

Yeah, I've used the twisted method before, but I find the coils gunk up much faster than a single strand coil.

Thank you my friend Steve.
I saw this video.
in all of its harmful sprays I use nichrome year 0.2.
This is sufficient to produce 8-10 watts.:vapor:
If you want to avoid the gunk up of the twisted method you can make a dual coil like this one guys. I've tried it and it works great

So far with all my experiments with coils and even mesh setups. My favorite is still on a 1.1-1.2 ohms Single coil setup.

3cm +/- 1mm or so, Kanthal A1 32g is what i use. Best vapor and flavor just the way i like it. Oh.. and its on Mr Krinkle's wick style but i used 2X 1.5mm Wicks i got from Esmoke-guru instead.

I am trying the Mercerized %100 cotton #3 yarn for wick in my Ody, it is easily out performing the silicone wick.

I'm also trying the mercerized %100 cotton yarn (the one I got is #8) in my Odysseus (two strands), so far is working good.

I also bought some gauze and some facial pads (100% cotton) to experiment :D

How come that stuff doesn't burn guys? Cotton isn't heat resistant as far as I know

Hi Capt,

as my friend Mosin said, as long the wick is kept moisturized it won't burn, cotton absorbs liquid very well :)

(2nd day and still working ok (same tank))

EvilGrym started a thread about this: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/modding-forum/284030-wick-materials-safe-vs-dangerous.html

A Russian discovery :D

(If the memory does not betray me) I remember Mosin commented something about it (in a post lost somewhere)

Im lost, what is all about cotton wick? Mercerized 100% cotton? Any setup pics?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yes, instead the normal wick :)

It looks pretty the same as the normal setup. I bought #8 100% cotton yarn at supermarket (Poppa D is using #3), I think the number on cotton yarn is like the diameter on wires (AWG)

I do not know much about cotton yarns (when I came back to the office with the cotton yarn I just bought, a coworker asked me: "are you now in the crochet learning?"

I will take some pictures after finishing this tank.
