ive tried it with 3 diffirent coils, im really lost as to why it wont fire, maybe over current? the odysseus seems to pull alot more current than the ohms and voltage would suggest, but thats just my guess.

Are you sure you've got the positive wire (going to center post) in the ceramic channel and not the steel side? On the new Ody's you have to run the wires a certain way, if not you get a short when you put it together. The V1 Ody's had ceramic on both sides so it didn't matter which leg went down which side.
Another possiblity is you got an Ody missing one of the small orings. The missing one is optional and goes between the ceramic and housing. The oring under center post and the plasitc disk between center post and ceramic housing are not optional. If you put one of them bewteen the ceramic and housing you'll get a short also.
One other thing that could be happening is the center pin touching the outer threads of the 510 connection. You'd have to have something really loose, cross threaded or machined crooked. All are highly unlikely but at least worth checking out so you can eliminate them from the equation.
All of this is assuming your Provari isn't messed up. You've tried other attys on it and the Ody on a different mod?
ill give it a go when i get home, but i think if the provari will fire it, as its the most picky PV ive every had, theres no shorts
I am putting the positive side down the ceramic side, and the negative part on the metal side. However the mentioning of O rings is new. Aside from the black plastic disk under the nut you screw the center post into from the top of the ceramic and housing, and the O ring that is at the end of the center pin is the only things that came with it. I have tried it on my lavatube, and it fires fine. However, I had a incident where I was using a DID repairable atomizer on my old lavatube, and the DID was not working on my provari and SVR, because they both detected a short. Long story short, my display on my lavatube melted. After that happened to me, I knew I had to test my devices on my provari before I tried them out on any other mod, to cautiously protect my well being. Lol.
So, new day to try to get the oddy to work for me again. To give you guys an update on my last attempted coil, I was able to wrap a 3.6 ohm coil using 32 Kanthal A1. Measured it out before I inserted the housing, 3.6 ohms. Inserted it into the housing, measured it again before I wrapped the positive side on the center post, 3.6ohms. Wrapped it around the center post, and screwed it into the oddy 510 base, and that's where it goes wrong, measured at .4 ohms.Mind you, I do not put on the mouthpiece, and it reads this.
I'm going to keep trying today, and see if I can get her purring.
Personally I don't think it's a good idea to use any wicking material that hasn't been tested for safety...Imeo's wick has been tested as safe. And your gauge wire is a good place to start. It's definitely not too thin. Hope that helps.I did not read through all 494 post, so if this is a repeat question, sorry. I just got my Ody, which came with only one wire, and some wick. I see the wick is out of stock, so I'm stuck until it comes in. But after reading some post on here, I see that I may want to use something other then the new style wick, like butchers yarn or something else. Any suggestions? I can't seem to get a res. higher then 1.5 ohms, so I need to practice. Also, luckily I ordered res. and Non-res. wire before I got my Ody, res. is 32ga, and NR is 30ga., is this ok for the size wire, or is it too small. Please help.
He quit vaping Imeo...I think we're losing a family member![]()

Can anybody answer my questions from my above post, please. I read on another post that the new wick material could be bad to inhale.
New Ody wick? I am sure that you read wrong buddy. The Ody's wick is the most safe and it has all the nessesary certificates![]()
