ive tried it with 3 diffirent coils, im really lost as to why it wont fire, maybe over current? the odysseus seems to pull alot more current than the ohms and voltage would suggest, but thats just my guess.

Thanks imeo, just trying to return the favor. Got lots of help from these threads and videos when I got first Ody. I'd hate to see somebody give up on one before they got it running right. They'd be missing out on the best vape going.
Have you tried firing the coil with just the rebuildable exposed.... No tank or mouthpiece?
Sounds to me that either there is a short or a short is being created through assembly or the battery may not be strong enough to power the atty.
Try firing a saturated wick without the tank and mouthpiece first and see if you get the same result. If so.... Ohm out the coil while it's attached to the battery and verify the resistance. Then, if you have a multimeter, check to see if there is any amperage passing through the coil while the coil is not disengaged (Don't press the power button). I'm assuming that this is a manual battery and not an automatic feeder...... may sound silly, but hey..... you never know.

ill give it a go when i get home, but i think if the provari will fire it, as its the most picky PV ive every had, theres no shorts
I am putting the positive side down the ceramic side, and the negative part on the metal side. However the mentioning of O rings is new. Aside from the black plastic disk under the nut you screw the center post into from the top of the ceramic and housing, and the O ring that is at the end of the center pin is the only things that came with it. I have tried it on my lavatube, and it fires fine. However, I had a incident where I was using a DID repairable atomizer on my old lavatube, and the DID was not working on my provari and SVR, because they both detected a short. Long story short, my display on my lavatube melted. After that happened to me, I knew I had to test my devices on my provari before I tried them out on any other mod, to cautiously protect my well being. Lol.
So, new day to try to get the oddy to work for me again. To give you guys an update on my last attempted coil, I was able to wrap a 3.6 ohm coil using 32 Kanthal A1. Measured it out before I inserted the housing, 3.6 ohms. Inserted it into the housing, measured it again before I wrapped the positive side on the center post, 3.6ohms. Wrapped it around the center post, and screwed it into the oddy 510 base, and that's where it goes wrong, measured at .4 ohms.Mind you, I do not put on the mouthpiece, and it reads this.
I'm going to keep trying today, and see if I can get her purring.

Yes, but the base level where the 510 connection pin sits may be slightly at a different depth for each device, just to keep that in mind. Also, even though the connection pin should be snug within the atty, there is a slight chance that while spinning the Ody onto your base, while a center pin connection is being made, it "could" slightly rotate the pin, just enough to cause issues.
Just trying to be as thorough as possible to get you working dude......

Just one thing to add here....
Apparently the atty is shorting upon installation. A 3.6 to a .4 ohm drop is huge. .4 ohm can be considered a probe resistance.... anyway...
Don't use the previous wires from your last coil.... start with all new wires, cut to proper size, resistance and just to be sure.... I know ..... make sure that both end wires are indeed NR Wires and the only R Wire is between the 2 NR Wires.

Personally I don't think it's a good idea to use any wicking material that hasn't been tested for safety...Imeo's wick has been tested as safe. And your gauge wire is a good place to start. It's definitely not too thin. Hope that helps.

I can only answer to you about wires grill. I suggest 34 or 36 awg R wire and 0,2mm nickel or silver NR wire. But I see that you bought low awg wires, so better to make very LR coils. I suggest you to make 1-1,2 ohms with those R wires

Thank you Imeo. I love my Ody. When I used other mods, to include my UFS, with Chinese atomizers I would feel a little tightness in my throat/chest. I am assuming that was due to some kind of allergy (I am highly allergic to just about everything). I get none of that with my Ody. It tastes and feels cleaner and smoother than anything that I have ever vaped.

OK, I trust the new wick is safe, but it's hard to get. I even put a notify me on COV, but never got it, and now they are sold out again. Any place else I can get the wick from?
