I too had hip displacement 6 yrs ago, along with 19 broken bones and still have 6 that are nonunions and 7 transverse process (wingtips of vertebrae) that will never reattatch and float around in muscle tissue in my back. Relefin is by far the anti-inflammatory that will work wonders for you, IMO, of course. Along with pain pills (for bones that are still broken after 6yrs) the Relefin absolutely works like no other, and Ive damn near tried em all!!!!!!

Here's the Chinese translation, per Google....

Its actually Relafin, chemical name nabumetone so these are translations in respective order

OK, very sorry, but cannot find a translator that will do medicine names but PLEASE ask ur DR about this! Hooe this helps!!!:)

How's your pronunciation getting, Leaford? I gave you the Naproxen for print because I didn't want that messed up for obvious reasons. :)

Arthritis is, I believe, guānjiéyán - remembering my spoken Chinese is Cantonese [primarily]

Next time could you pick one of my near-fluent languages, please? :p

I do not advocate self-medicating. My translations are a reasonable certainty, but I advise getting a second opinion - or at least posting a photo of the info on the medication before medicating so we can take a shot at translating it. But please - don't take these translations as an endorsement of self-medicating - which is always a bad idea... None of us are qualified to suggest medications (other than perhaps Naproxon Sodium - an OTC of good acceptance).

In the interest in full disclosure, I just got "busted" a couple days ago for a mistranslation of a manufacturer's cut-sheet for a product we delivered to the Feds. Whatever dialect, my Chinese is faaaar from fluent and my translations are not without flaw by any stretch of the imagination.

[Insert additional disclaimers, including, but not limited to: No representation and you're a big dummy for relying on any translation I make...]

Yeah, it's an NSAID, which are generally reasonably well tolerated. But there are a lot of counterindications and drug interactions to be concerned with any NSAID. Naproxen is also in the NSAID class. So make certain you understand the counterindications and interactions WELL before medicating. If you're sensitive to aspirin you should never take any NSAID without consulting a physician and being closely supervised. They can kill you, make no mistake... Do not taunt happy fun NSAID.

Thanks Addy, and your disclaimers are well-taken.

I do have a bad habit of self-medicating. As much as I believe in science-based medicine I also realize that the bottom of his class in medical school is still called Doctor, so I have been self medicating for years. Besides, with social anxiety I really hate, hate, HATE Doctors visits. I usually just get one visit to find out what to take, and I deal with it myself from there. I was hoping to do the same with this, just sponging off everyone else's doctors visits.

But maybe I should re-think that. I always read the inserts all the way through, but that'll be kind of hard to do here. Maybe I should wait a week and see a doctor at the International Hospital in Thailand before trying to get any serious meds. I've got a doctor there, Dr. Aree, that I trust. 3rd in his class at U of Wisconsin. Meantime, I'll try to get an Advil equivalent here, that should be safe enough.

And try Taryn's stretches, too. :thumb:

I don't want to see you in pain, of course, but I am glad to hear that sentiment! :)

The problem (not to put too fine a point on it) is that different people present with seemingly identical symptoms and history, but in fact have entirely different issues. Or masquerading illnesses - that can really getcha, doctor or not, but especially not.

Add to that not knowing the virtual patients' overall health, history, and other RX, and it's just a mine-field. I mean, heck, I give you an aspirin and you're a free-bleeder and I didn't know it - and oh yeah, you're on Warfarin and bang - hope there's a hospital nearby when you stub your toe.

Duck, see my comments above about acupuncture. ;)

Nothing based on qi is real. There just is no such thing. If there were, it would be detectable, measurable, and provable. And there would be ONE consistent chart of the meridians, not dozens. ANd most of all, if it worked, the results would be observable and provable. Instead, every well conducted study shows just the opposite, that it only works as a placebo.

But I know you mean well, and are sincerely trying to offer help, and I thank you for that!

get some kind of advil

bù luò fēn
布洛芬
[Ibuprofen]

I'm running my Chinese/Cantonese version of Windows in a virtual machine now. Woke up at like 5am going "hey - that's what I should do!"

Man, this is dredging up words I haven't even thought about in fifteen years. Dig deep and dust those mental cobwebs off... Most of the translating I get called on for these days is technical rather than biological or pharmaceutical... ;)
