Yes, I've had that and it did get up to par after quite a while; not sure it was a week, but i remember just before I was ready to write it off, it came to life flavor-wise... I've had 2 LB's out of about 8 357's I've used and while they did get to a point where they were like vapor locomotives, on the whole, the flavor seemed not as good, yet still better than any other type of atomizer, and I don't care to reorder LB's.
I just ordered a couple more shorty 510's (1.5 Ohm) because they are so darn good.
Hey guys, HH.357 user here for about 1 year. Best atomizers I've ever used. I use them exclusively, and only gone through 4 in 1 year. But I have a question...

I decided to order the 1.5ohm long barrel last week for the first time, and there's barely any flavor at all. I'm happy about the fact that it doesn't spit, but in terms of flavor it's totally flat. I taste a little when I breath out, but nothing on the intake. I've given it a week to break-in, but it hasn't really improved. Is this normal?

I did a comparison to one of my short-barrels, and it tastes downright delicious. Switched back to the long-barrel, and no more flavor... just warm flat musty vapor.

Just checking to see if this is normal, or if maybe there's something wrong with mine...

Multimeter reads between 1.4 and 1.5. Using a 3.7volt 14500. Flavor doesn't improve with lower voltages.

Well that's uplifting... I hope mine starts tasting good soon. If it's still the same in another week, something might be wrong.

Hey kilowatts,
I have an atty, the one I'm currently using, giving me the same problem. Its a short barrel 2ohm 510, and it vaped great but the flavor just wasn't there(you can read back in the thread about all the problems I've had lately). I talked to Hanna, he said to try dripping one more drop than normal and upping the voltage. I was using it at 4-4.2v, he said up it, he personally runs a 2ohm at 4.8v. So I went up to 4.6-4.7 and keep it wet, and now the flavor is getting better. Its about a week and a half old now, so I think by 2 weeks full flavor should be in effect.
Its weird though, I got a 1.5ohm long barrel a while ago and it was friggin amazing in 2-3 hours, so I guess its the luck of the draw whether its gonna be great right away or if you will have to wait for the deliciousness.

So uke, less TH with 901s? I guess I might as well not bother trying them, I need a strong TH to feel like I'm getting anything. I hope he replaces those 2 long barrels, that would be awesome, and I would have 4 long barrels in my backup stash then!
I am currently using a shorty, the one that was the replacement for my first ever HH. I like it, but the short barrel gets too much juice all over the bottom of my drip tip and occasionally in my mouth.

Hey dDubs - well, the taste IS improving a little. It's off and on though... I'm having some burning issues, but sometimes it's pretty great.

I think with these attys you have to wait until there's a little gunk on them before they start performing well. Sounds weird and gross, but true.

Yea, I would show you a pic of my recently flavorful HH, but I don't have a descent camera where you would actually be able to see it. You are right, it seems like the flavor comes out once the coil starts to darken up. Its weird with the one I'm using right now, the coil is slanted a little, so the lower portion looks like new and the higher portion is dark. Kind of cool, as you can see how it looks after a couple weeks of usage, compared to new.
What do you mean by burning? Even a dry hit with the HH is 'good' compared to a dry hit with any other atty.... its like its just stale and no flavor, but not bad....

ohio :-(
I got two of these, a 3.0 and a 2.5. The 3.0 works ok but after the second hit the flavor is nonexistent. Does this improve, I like to taste my juice you know? The 2.5, well this one is junk. All it does is gurgle with the slightest bit of juice and no vaper. I know there is a break in period but it is working in know way as the other. At 3.7 volts the 3 ohm is producing three times the amount of vapor than the 2.5 ohm. Im going to contact avidvapor about this because I think the 2.5 is a bad one.

It can take up to two weeks (of continuous use for me) to get full performance. Even up until then, the flavor may not be full but it should still vape great. If you have a 2.5 and 3ohm HHs, 3.7v isn't near high enough for even the 2.5. I run a 2ohm at 4.6-4.7v, and Hanna says he likes 4.8, so a 2.5ohm should need around 5v I'd say. Also make sure your doing the shorter, quicker draws. Long, soft pulls don't produce much since there isn't enough turbulence to pull juice onto the coil. As long as you follow Hanna's instructions on Avid's site, you should be ok. If you have any HH questions, this is the right place to ask!

Good reminder dDubs... probably why I don't get long life out of mine; I haven't been able to change my vaping style; I like the long pulls, and the 1.5 Ohm to be sure to get the juice vaporized. Old habits die hard, but I do get the flavor and vapor that HH357 is famous for.

*best solution for juice coming back into your mouth and spitting is to get a nice Pyrex donut d/t; it's got everything: 1. pyrex glass lets juice slide down fast. and not up. doesn't get hung up. 2. donut shape prevents any juice or spitting reaching your mouth; bottom of the donut hole is a glass barrier between your atomizer and your mouth. :)

dDubs, TH is typically less, but with the 1.5 Ohm 901, i get decent TH. If you've ever tried an 801 atomizer, it has the least TH of all, and i guess 306 would have the most. 901 is between the 2 and a little less than the 510, but not that noticeable.
I'd suggest trying a conventional 901 (like a Cisco spec) to get the hang of a different type.
The 901 has been my favorite for more than a year now. I used to buy 30-40 at a time from VaporKings. I've tried all the different vendors' 901's and they're pretty much all good.
Nothing like the HH357 901 of course.

if anyone wants a source for fabulous pyrex d/t's (donuts too) just pm me.

I saw on avid the 510H I think, with the hole on the side like a 901. Looks interesting, I was thinking about trying one. Don't really need it though, I have the short barrel HH I'm using now, and in reserve I have-
2- SS long barrel 1.5ohm
1- black long barrel 2ohm
1- blue custom long barrel 2ohm
All 510s, so I'm good on HHs for a while.... at least I should be.

Does Hanna still post here? I have a question or two for him and I think I remembered he said he could rebuild an atty if you wanted. I want to have 2 of mine spec'd in a different way and I am willing to pay for.

To answer a post above, another way to keep the spitting down is to make a blocker. Hanna made a video about this and this is what I did. I used a bridge from an 801 atty since it is wider and it works like a dream.
