Well don't forget, sometimes the HH357 is best after a few (at least) times for the juice to bake on to the coil to get oxidized and then full flavor.
what resistance is it? anyway if you follow Hanna's advice it's a winna.
I haven't used the 357 yet. Still hesitant, plus I'm waiting on my juice to steep. There's a specific juice I want to drip in it and I'm not making any compromises lol. I'll definitely be back to this thread though.

I specifically love the 2.5ohm 357's and I vape them at 5.2volts giving me around 10.8 watts. That is my personal preference.
It is a beautiful flavor and vapor for the 357.

That sounds perfect, I like my 1.5ohm at 4.2-4.4v, and the 2ohm is at 4.7-4.8v. But that doesn't mean that they don't perform great at lower wattages also- I just prefer around 10-11 watts. I haven't used any like fruit or lighter flavor juices in my HH- I use Oba Oba, which is a kinda sweet tobacco flavor(which doesn't taste at all like a tobacco juice IMO, but is just perfect for an all day vape for me). I have 5 or 6 HHs, 4 brand new, and I rotate the other two with the oba oba, I don't use them with any other juice.... not sure why?
I have noticed also that flavor starts to come on better once the coil starts to turn a darker color, from the nice grey-silver that it starts out as.

wow you guys are tipping me off to a ... um, like doh! idea. You know light bulb goes off?
I have been struggling with just creeping up very sheepishly, in voltage worrying about blowing popping the coils of my HH357's and also i havent' gotten into calculating watts... in this case too much "old school" attitude, because I saw the last 2 posts and said "bingo"!

I feel like a kid with his vrooom and the "thrill is back" with HH357.
Had been getting very inconsistent hits and thinking there was too much juice in the atomizer from one drip to the next, but seems like it was a matter of not getting enough power to the coil.
Old school range of voltage recommendations may just not be good for HH357's ... I'm on it.

thanks Sky... I'm Born Again !!!
I've got a 1.9 Ohm 901 on my Vmax, and if you know about them they can fry an egg on a cold day... at 3.0 its closer to 4v.... I have a Zmax ordered, and it has VW functions; first time I'll be doing Watts.
My 1.5 Ohm 510's (all HH357) are on Provari or VVPV at about 3.7, 4.0v. (note all "3.7" devices are true 3.3 to 3.4v except like a Kgo).
It seems to me the 901 which has a slightly airier draw NEEDS to be fired up more than the 510 ... this solves practically any inconsistencies.
I will put some ranges here for the 10-11 range.
1.5ohm 4-4.1 volts
2ohm 4.6-4.7 volts
2.5ohm 5.1-5.3volts
Those are probably the three main resistances Avid sells. Those are all in the 10-11 watt ranges.

Like I have said earlier in this thread. One of my 357's has lasted me a year at these wattage's.
One thing to be careful of with the Zmax. It is not calibrated correctly. You will have to play mostly with flavors and not wattage's, they have it juiced up. I have seen some tests where they have had it set to 7.5watts and it is actually outputting 10+. Just be careful with that thing.

I just pulled out a long barrel 3Ω HH357 that I had ordered a while back, and it appears to be a major dud. I initially dripped 7 drops, waited a good 5 minutes to let the wicks soak it in, dripped another 3, started it at 3.4V and gradually moved up to 4.8V (the level at which I normally vape 3Ω) and nada. Sharp drags, long drags, no matter what I try I can't get this working properly. Even kicked up to 6V I barely get a puff of vapor.

Obviously I'm passed the DOA time frame, but I was wondering if anyone's experienced this and if there's anything I could do to get this atty working properly.

Yeah, I know. For a guy that was timid about voltage, now using a Vmax on an LR HH357 (at 3.0), go figure. It is a LR 1.7 Ohm 901 HH357, imo it seems the 901's need more power than the 510's.
I am careful with it and you get a feel for it after a while... i really like the SmokTech VVs ... It's like taking a bazooka to a knife fight, but I like the kick it has; like immediate gratification.

I heard Cisco say on an interview with Vapelink that he has been using a pre-prod version and says it works great. I think they just had a lot of R&D on it. I thought they had scrapped it also since I first heard about it last year around September. I was really surprised to hear him talking about it on Vapelink.

Tried with a voltmeter and a Provari and it reads 3ohms. I'll try boiling it and see what happens. Thanks!

If it was delivering any kind of vapor, I would say stick it in a pot of water and boil it for awhile. Let it dry then put some straight VG into it to get things lubricated. Do you have a voltmeter you can test the Ohms on it?

DON'T BOIL!!! it does a good job at cleaning however it WILL melt the plastic cup inside that keeps the wicking from coming in contact with the center post and will most likely short out, if it doesnt short out, it still wont work properly or as well as it should.

DevilFishPhil: blow it out completely, fill with 6 drops or until slight gurgle, set at 6v and try. if still nothing let me know.
