After reading this thread for forever, I decided to finally pull the trigger and put in an order. I'm decidedly NOT a tobacco vape fan but figured I'd give this a shot anyway since it doesn't seem like it will be too difficult to offload if it doesn't suit me, lol.

Well, time to spill the beans... Almond anyone?
Hmmm, that would account for the cherry/fruity taste that some people have described. I've got another idea as well, but will have to wait until my juice arrives in order to confirm it, lol.

"Boba" according to Wikapedia is a Pearl Tapioca used in Asian deserts such as Kolak, which is Palm Sugar and Coconut with some other spices. Whether this has anything to do with what's used in this juice is questionable since chocolate is not mentioned in those Asian recipes but it may be there under a name I don't recognise.

As far as I know, "Boba" refers to the Star Wars character rather than the foodstuff....but that could just be something to throw us off of the truth. All I know is it's my favorite juice!

Just received my first shipment of Boba yesterday, along with a bottle of Flue Dried and Gamel. The taste of both Boba and Gamel were strangely related and both had an underlying foundational flavor, experienced mostly in the aftertaste that I found disquieting and mildly displeasing. The description that comes to mind is a plasticky spiciness.

The vapor was thicker in consistency, lingered in the air longer and had a more pronounced residual odor than my regular tobacco chinese thin-as-water vape, so to my mind neither one of these vapes are suitable for stealth vaping at work, IMHO. My wife said the Gamel smelled like a nasty cigar. I didn't think it was that bad, but the odors are pronounced.

I use a Joye 510 battery with a Totally Wicked Type B tank atomizer for my chinese smoke (this is a great device combo, by the way) but for the AVE juices I used the standard Joye carts and atomizers. The tank is for me a superior vape to the carts - more Th, more vapor, much more satisfying, but I used the carts because of the thick nature of the AVE juices.

I'm not giving up on these guys yet, but I am going to let these sit a while before I try them again later.

Great thread!

I'll let ya know what I think in a few days, just ordered the BB and the GJ. I was torn since I wanted to order more VV juice but this is just too intriguing to ignore....and I don't like tobacco blends at all so if I like this one I'll be pleasantly surprised.

I had a thought. Maybe he changes the mix just a slight bit every few weeks or whatever just to keep everyone guessing what the background spices might be. Not so much the original flavors that go into the mix, but perhaps the %'s of each flavor. That would make it taste more coconut to some people a few weeks ago and now, the almond flavor is prevailing. Does each and every order taste exactly the same as the order before?

I don't think he would risk changing up a formula that's become so popular.

Probably not, but guess I'll have to wait until mine gets here to even have an opinion. I know from DIY that's it's really hard to get the same recipe exactly the same time after time. An extra drop here or there can change things up.

Interesting - I gave the BB another try last night and that "plasticky spiciness" finish that I found so unpleasant wasn't there any more. It was a much more natural smoke than I had experienced the first time. I'm not ready to say what the taste is yet, but I'm happy that the initial ickyness is gone. I wonder if that was because it was my first VG-based liquid?

Lots of juice needs to steep for several days, sometimes weeks, especially the organics and vg based. I try them when they ship and then put them away for several days....sometimes they change radically, other times no steeping is going to help....

Edit: Sometimes it helps to put a new bottle in very warm water for about 15 minutes with the lid off. This helps to mend the flavors together. Just for a short time and then let it sit without lid until room temp again. Now this could ruin some juices if left in the water too long so you have to be real careful. I use this method with my DIY liquids when I want to test them without having to steep them, but I've never tried it on pre-mixed liquids that were shipped to me....proceed with caution....

That's an interesting idea. I'll give that a try. The odd thing to me is that all of the AVE juices I've tried taste very similar to me. That includes Boba, Flue Cured and Gamel. I do hope they grow on me because I hate buying stuff that I won't ever use.

A lot depends on how long you have been vaping. You may be experiencing the dreaded dead taste bud syndrome. This happens after you quit the analogs and your taste buds go through several changes. There is also a "salt" syndrome that happens with some folks. All their juices taste salty. But it all passes eventually. There are juices I used to vape but can't any longer because when the taste buds kicked back in I could taste a strange flavor in the base used, or the flavor just didn't get it for me anymore.....

I have been using the Boba's Bounty since I started vaping with an eGo a few weeks ago. Before that I was buying prefilled small carto's to fit my kr808 batteries. To me the Boba's taste's like a tabacco blend with a hint of brown sugar. I love brown sugar btw. Next time I buy the Boba's I will get a strength more suitable for all day vaping. Currently using the 24mg.
I can see myself always having some Boba's around regardless of what other juices I have in my stash.

I know what the secret flavor is. No doubt about it. It's a combination of the most addictive substances on the planet. Chocolate, caffeine, nicotine, and (an illegal substance that apparently there is a rule about naming ??) I was only addicted to the first three. Damn you Boba!

Are you really tasting a coffee flavor in there along with the unmentionable which by the way may soon be legal for all over 18 in our state, or were you just joking around?
