Has anyone found Ni200 flat ribbon wire?
Mongo, I only run a 1 ohm horizontal on a 3/32 bit in my Veritas made one of these to get it in place. It works great! I can knock out a coil in a couple minutes including placement.

Just got this video linked about a Basic Ni200 micro coil build for DNA40 Devices by basilray. Not sure if this was already linked but I haven't seen it yet. He explains stuff very nice.

That's definitely on my list of things to try once I get back to PA where I have access to an FLIR camera.next will say use titanium wire.
Thanks. Nice presentation. He turns TC off and then fires the coil till its red to reshape. Only problem is after this the coil needs to cool to room temp before use and I doubt I have the patience for that. /lol

temco said:What is Nickel 200?
Nickel 200 is a ferromagnetic, commercially pure wrought Nickel. Its composition is 99% Nickel at minimum. At maximum, it can contain: 0.15% Carbon, 0.25% Copper, 0.4% Iron, 0.35% Magnesium, 0.35% Silicon, and 0.01% Sulphur.
Nickel 200 can be used in rebuildable atomizers to ensure that heat is applied where you want it. For example, a coil can be made by putting nickel 200 wire on each end of your Kanthal or Nichrome wire. You can then measure out your nichrome/kanthal wire to a set resistance and put nickel wire leads on each end to connect to your posts. The result: only your coil will heat up for the most part, elminating hot spots at the connector grommet.
Let's face it folks we are the lab rats here. You say space the coils I say don't soace the coils, someone says heat the coils, someone else says don't do it, make your coils banana shaped, other one says make them look like a dolphin, next will say use titanium wire.
I was so annoyed last night I actually build a coils with wire overlapping just to see what will happen and it wasn't pretty lol.
Not sure if this is the way to go. Do we know if heating up a nickel coil is ok? I thought it wasn't but of course it would make life a bit easier.
Why can't we just have wire that functions like 26-28g kanthal that's easy to work with and 8wraps get you into the perfect ohm range. No, we have to make it complicated and use angel hair nickel wire.
I hope you don't mind my suggestion to youNO offence intended. To get started with Ni200 why not grab your wicking material and then wrap the Ni200 around same. Forget the jig and all the various contortions.
No need IMHO to obsess about the beauty contest of your coil to get started. Then install your completed build on your delivery device and complete and vape.

And then there are guys like me who don't know much, question everything and generally just like to spread terror and confusion![]()
I have a question about the wire for build coil on DNA 40. I understand that in order to benefit from temperature control, i must use Ni200.
I search on Europe store, but not find it. But i find Nickel Wire or Pure Nickel (99.5 %) - no resistance with is in Non Resistance Wire category.
So, Ni200 is the same as Nickel Wire or Pure Nickel (99.5 %) - no resistance?
Can I use Nickel Wire or Pure Nickel (99.5 %) - no resistance instead of Ni200?

Well it seems to works for basilray to heat his coil and get a good vape, so I think the video is great for providing and demonstrating many of the basics.
He also mentioned the "temperature control group" on facebook. Anyone has facebook and checked it out?
About the confusion, it's possible that evolv put quite a lot of effort into briefing the beta testers, and somehow hoped that the beta testers would share more of their best practices or gathered knowledge. Some have certainly shared kindly but it's just going to take time to find things that work for you. Welcome to the frontier, the bleeding edge of innovation haha.
