Hi ping, If you get a chance, go to facebook and look up the chuck page. look at my profile, and you can see pics of my babies. We have had German Shepherds for almost 3 years and they are wonderful dogs. My 2 1/2 year old male had the best time at a dog park with a 2 year old female Great Dane. It was a gas watching them play and my male taking a very submissive role with the female (as any good gentleman would do)

Must be a shepherd-dane thing. Of all my dogs, the only one that will play with the dane is my shepherd-mix. He (unknowingly) always gets too rough when playing and the shepherd is the only one that can keep up with his rough play.

Here's a pic when they were both pups. As usual he has the 'upper hand'

My unbelievable lovable girl passed away this Oct at 8 yrs old from cancer. She had already beaten one round of cancer and got a different type in her lymph system. I miss her more than you can imagine! Been thinking about a rescue to give my chocolate lab a buddy, I really miss having a Dane. Just haven't decided yet although I've been keeping an eye on rescues links in my area...

Big dogs are the best! I have never owned a dane but I do like them. I lean toward the mastiffs myself and have a Dogo Argentino named Hektor. I also have a wonderful Viszla named Gunnar.
My next dog will be a Cane Corso.
For some strange reason I am never able to have the same breed twice. I get very attached to my dogs so it is hard to get the same breed as I do not feel I can replace the dog I lost, so I get a different breed.
Sadly I will never be able to own all the dogs I would like to own as my husband limits me to only three at a time.
I am down one dog now as we lost Charles a couple of weeks ago. He stole a bottle of Ibuprofen off the counter, managed to eat the lid off and ingested most of the bottle. His kidneys failed and we ended up having to put him to sleep. It will be some time before I am ready to get another dog. Charles was a australlian shepherd, cattle dog mix and he was a good dog.
Some dogs I would like to some day own are: Cane Corso, Bull Mastiff, Neopolition Mastiff, Fila Brazillai, Great Dane, Irish Wolfhound........

I have a viszla also and she is so precious

Yes my dear Vizsla Gunnar is most likely the very best dog I have ever owned or ever will own.

He is my velcro dog, he follows me everywhere, he would rather be with the humans than with the dogs, he seems to be very senstitive to moods, if I am down he will be mellow but will stick very very close to me, if I am happy he will dance and leap with joy.
He can open doors, turn on lights, and knows lots of commands and tricks all of which he has learned in a few short sessions. He is by far the smartest dog I have owned.
He also likes to sing.

Here's what you can expect if your selling Great Dane puppies in the year 2010.

1. people that come to view are already sold, if they go to all the trouble to come see the the puppies, it's just a matter of which one.
2. Impulse buyers, see rule 1.
3. they seem to have money and the resources to support a Great Dane and possibly already have a Great Dane.
4. Price is not the issue, Quality and Temperament rule. Socialization is a plus.
5. Puppy needs to "pick" the person. Have the buyer sit down and see which puppy keeps coming back to love and snuggle with the buyer, SOLD!
6. Allow buyer's children to attempt to pick up the puppy...this is a huge "cuteness" factor plus this highlights the fact that the puppy will not be dragged around by the children and can actually fend for itself.
7. If the puppy continues to "pick" the buyer AND "picks " the child, you might actually sell two pups to the same buyer.

we have 2 puppies left from the 11 that we started with, having the 11 puppies at Christmas time has been the best Christmas in a long time for us...well, plus we're at $x000 gross with two pups left doesn't hurt...

EDIT- SOLD! the last looker bought the last two puppies...woohoo,but they were perfect every one of them and well socialized.
