So far, my squonkers are mechs. There are some guys right now selling nice-looking regulated squonkers here on ECF, including one that's a dna-200, but yeah - that stuff's pricey!!

Considering building a sxj, bf mod. someone on FB is selling some and I really wanted it, but not for the 550$ selling price.

I have no clue what their business plan really is, I just know that customers have been asking for a provi squanker or a comfy box type or a functional side by side for a L O N G time. I'm guessing that the Radius is at least one of those three, with it's own signature look. :)

IF the Mothership ONLY supports a 18650 20A continuous like the Samsung R25 then 40 watts Max is a piece of cake in their NEW and improved "Tube" or a "Box Mod".

:)

Its really that simple since it's their own firmware/software driving the current P3. Fire down to say 0.25 and suddenly you have embraced the HUGE sub-ohm crowd who use prebuilt heads. And not all of us chase clouds. I chase flavor and it's superb. Pop in a new head, prime and break in and I'm ready to rock and roll. The single bat last all day + @ 30 Watts with a 0.50 Dual Head. Consuming around 7ML + of juice.

Welcome to 2015 :) /joke

Of course my gang of 4 Varis still get used.

By the way, I do apologize for bogarting this thread a bit... I know it's strange being a manufacturer of vaping devices to be a huge ProVape fan boy... but I've been collecting these things since the ProVape 1 before the ProVari even came out, and I'm really excited to see all of this as it unfolds.

Some of my fondest memories of early vaping took place in that original ProVari 1 thread so long ago. Things were different back then, everybody in the thread was so hopeful that the new device would be amazing, and it truly was. There were far fewer people asking for more power, the big thing back then was the push for reliability. All the devices on the market at the time were unreliable, ill-conceived and lacking in so many ways. The ProVari promised to change that, and it really really did.

The market was starving for ANYTHING that worked well. ProVape really delivered.

We had a blast in that thread, Vaping was pretty new... I'm as excited about this release as I was waiting for my first ProVari to arrive in it's Priority mail box with the wonderful bubble wrap packaging!

I just had a memory flash from the old ProVari thread, so I went back to verify if I remembered correctly...

One of the things that was highly requested quite early on... You're gonna laugh...

Wait for it...

LESS power.

The original ProVari only went down to 3.3V (as I recall) and the version 2 boards they actually did make it go lower.

My, how times have changed!

I am pretty sure provari are well aware that if the upped the wattage they will considerably expand their potential customer base and I am also sure this is something they would be more than happy about. I don’t think they will chase this at any cost though so what I expect is that if this is a mod it will go as high as they believe they safely can. I have no problem with any level of upper wattage as long as it is safe and also goes as low as 7 watts because all my vaping is done in the 7-8.5 watts range.

I also think it’s some sort of box with a rounded front section (like the i is an aerial view of the mod)– I hope it’s a side by side, or better still a modular box with a ‘slot in’ tank section and a slot in squonker section (well I can dream, lol). The left of the photo (textured section) looks flat and the bit behind the ‘s’ looks to me like a flat side or bottom (not sure about the curved bit at the bottom though?).

... there is no reason Provape can't give a mod everything, or is there doubt that they can pull it off? They offer several fine products for those that want a product to ONLY vape lower wattage, maybe its time they let some of us that do enjoy volume vaping go back home to a company we started with. the provarinati may not want us back on ecf, but Provape may want us back as consumers..... well, some of us. Perhaps they are ready to open up to a broader audience while still offering the performance at lower power?

Provape has a solid reputation for what their priorities are, this also meaning that they prepare their new products meticulously. This takes a long time. I think it would be self-murderous to want to compete with Chinese manufacturers who keep bringing out seemingly ever stronger devices on a weekly basis. You wrote that if P3 managed - I don't know what it was, 50 watts? at the time it had been released, Provape could have had a bigger market share. But this is hindsight. At the time they began planning for P3,there was no way to see at what watt-limit the Chinese are. Why should they want to compete in a field when they have their own special field no Chinese manufacturer can compete with?

And one thing more: Not all, but most people in the "Big Watt" market segment would buy the cheaper product, given the same power speicifications. Of course, there are exceptions to this rule, but they seem to me to be a minority. The reason is quite simple: if you keep it cheap, you will be able to buy the next stronger one in two weeks (bit over-simplified but basically true) . It seems to me that combining high quality with the high power feature climbing higher all the time would be a lost battle the day they launch a new product.

That is one of the things I don't want to see go away: the ability to down regulate to a really low voltage, not so much for me, but for those people who do like a low power vape and they are out there still.
