Zen has a very wry sense of humor that can be taken wrong. He also has a huge amount of knowledge on these subjects and has done a lot of research/testing so you can pretty much take what he says as fact and if he doesn't know all the facts he will say so.

You will also notice he has refused to disrespect provape by touting his own competing PV. That alone speaks volumes about his integrity.

As for the mods, they take a looser approach to supplier forums and let the supplier decide what is allowed unless it goes against forum rules or are asked to step in. Robino1 can explain it better though.

And he also sells their products, and they sell his. There is some kind of partnership there. Mi respect the confidentiality of any agreement between him and ProVape, but there is no denying there is a relationship there.

As the fact that there is a business relationship there, I don't take everything he says as fact. Do I doubt he has experience? No. Do I think he knows nothing? No, I do believe the man has experience, and is fairly knowledgeable...but I can't overlook the fact that some things are coming across with bias. As a machinist, I have nothing but respect for the man, his creations are works of art. I also respect that he has his opinions on what a good Vape is, and what isn't. Just like some f us Vape tobacco flavors, some others Vape candy flavors and so on. I also respect his right to voice his opinion.... Where I find fault is his way of voicing opinion is done as an attack on others, or as "fact".

And I'm tired of seeing his snarky, insulting comments get praised, and getting attacked whenever I call him out on it. We are all entitled to opinions, but my opinions are always clearly stated as such, and I never take direct pot shots at anyone.

And for the record, the whole hamster thing is and was a passive-aggressive attack at everyone who didn't agree with him at that point in the conversation. And anyone who joins in on that, is only spreading the negativity.

Look, I'm a normally positive person...and I have no problem giving a pat on the back when deserved, and will agree to disagree on opinions. And when the chips are down, be the first to put any differences aside and wish that person the best. Hell, I was even happy for those who got their new radius and are happy with it. But I have zero tolerance for shunning people because they think or act a little differently.

Let's just agree to say we clearly don't see this in the same perspective. To me, Zen has made an incredibly positive contribution to the discussion about the Radius and I have learned so much and benefited greatly from his knowledge. And the hamster thing was nothing more than humor. Nothing more, nothing less.

And I respect your opinions of him, and am glad that he has helped you, as well as the others he has. For me, as well as a few others he has run off, I have not seen that side. In a perfect world, we would all see eye to eye...but this world isn't perfect, and perhaps he and I are 2 such people who will never see eye to eye. Doesn't take away from the fact he is one hell of a machinist/designer....and even though I may not see eye to eye with him, I have nothing but respect for him in that aspect

It all comes down to this, best illuminated here:

Wow. Really? After all the battery discussion the past couple weeks? You never want to push the limits to 100%. Standard electronic design is 50%. Although the battery provided is 25A, most high-end batteries are 20A. 50% of that is 10A.

The amp limit is not at the battery - it's at the atomizer. When you work the math, assuming a 95% device efficiency, at 40W with 0.443-ohm atty, it's drawing 9.5A at the atty, and pulling 10.03A from the battery. Now remember that 50% rule? ProVape nailed it.



Can be, sure. Will it be? Not likely. One factor we don't know is how many amps their circuitry can handle safely, so it may or may not even be possible. Again, never want to push the limits - that leads to failures and unreliability.

The whole hamster thing was, and is still, having a little fun with this basic disagreement; either you think batteries can handle more than 40W on a single cell imr or you don't.

How do you get more on a single cell?

Well, hamster+flux capacitor+single cell=>40W.

Pretty obvious really.

I, for the life of me, can NOT see how anyone could take it as an insult, even if they weren't privy to the "inside joke" nature/origins of the topic.

I'm glad you said this. But I also think you attacked someone, who's not even here to defend himself (not that I would expect him to to anyway) in response to posts earlier that were completely out of line, one of which was so totally out of line it deserved to be deleted. But I'm going to state that for the life of me, I don't see why you needed to bring Zen into this discussion at all. I really don't.

Without knowing it was a running joke far before this, and in the context of when it was posted...and the heated banter back and forth leading up to it, for those on the "other side" of the debate, it didn't come across as funny at all...but as a direct attack. So yea, I took offense to it as well. But perception does make the difference in this case...and I'm really not meaning to come across as a jagoff (probably the only "yinzer" term I use...folks from Pittsburgh will get it).

As far as Zen~ running anyone off goes, I'm reminded of a recent conversation with a co-worker.

We were discussing why exactly most of the country considers New Yorkers rude.

I opined that, in fact, I had always found New Yorkers to be some of the politest people I had met anywhere, always willing to help a person in need, to give you the shirt off their back if you're in a jam come to that.

My co-worker's response:

@zen - WOW.... I'm absolutely sure there's no placebo effect here with the Kabuki... I'm actually blown away by the flavor from this thing. I know its been discussed significantly on here - but i just fired one up for the first time, and am shocked. Flavor is right on with my Kayfun v4 - if not picking up more flavor/sweetness. I don't know how thats even possible out of these pre-built nauty coils, but apparently it is.

**This isn't some post to try to make Zen look good, or just try to convince people to get a Kabuki. I'm genuinely shocked at the flavor and vapor.

I'm only at 11.2 watts on my P3 with boost 3 also.
