Yep, thanks. Looks like you have the Zest v1.3 base. Should be the one with the tightest draw. Can you comment on that? I'm considering to order the Lite (medium) base to make mine tighter.
The Momentous is easy to build, because the juce channels are shallow, I build it like a KFL. You have tried, to leave a bit of cotton in the channel, so that it goes into the hole, right?

Momentous looks like this:

thumb_show.php

R
Well I'm weird and like a very tight MTL draw, but I find it similar to the KFL with all three holes open. I just go with one on each side or less (by half closing those holes - haha). Could have been a contributor to my leaking ;-).

I don't remember if I tried a bit down the channels... I think if I remember correctly, when I tried that, I'd always get hung up by the chimney screwing down. If not the first time, then anytime I made an adjustment, I could tell it threw my cotton down the channels all off and ruined it. Haha. It's probably similar to the Erl though where you only want a tiny tiny bit down there? I actually did have success with the Erl, but was just a bit "loud" for me I guess - haha. Then (IF) I did get any leaking I didn't like the juice going onto my mod. I'm all about side air. (Hence me so excited about the new Calix when it comes out!)

Little plug (I'm not affiliated in any way) but man is the Calix awesome.... He's gonna make a P3 base, with side air, working on a poly tank... I can't wait! That's like my only complaint with it was that it was bottom (510) air and was also kinda loud. His revisions should change all of that. But that thing is sooo easy on wicks, the flavor is right there with Erl/Phenomenon, large capacity, adjustable juice flow, top fill... I can't wait til he releases the new updates!!!

Well, on the Momentous I can do a restricted lung hit with 1 hole open.
I love my MTLs, the GEM, the K4. Therefore the Lite base in consideration. And the straight PMMA tank is really cool, makes that Phenomenon the lightest RTA out there I think.
Like the flavour on the Phenomenon, though, but the air ruins that a little.
I'm considering the new Calix too. Not that I would need it, of course :D

Try to tuck down some cotton in the channels and press it in so that the chimney doesn't ruin it. With the extra juice coming from the tank they will widen again and keep those channels nice and tight with no leaking.

Well now K gotta try it again. And from the looks of my coil, I better twist a new coil up too - haha.

I'm remembering that when I did tuck down the channel, I ended up blocking the flow and it would go dry. I guess I gotta just get it right.

Happen to have any pics of one of your successful builds?

Sorry, none at the moment and the tank's half full. Wil make some with the next in the following days, can report.
It's really a KFL contact microcoil and the wick just touching the deck.

So KFL style, with a (little) pony tail hanging down the channels - right?

I'm vaping at least 6ml of liquid a day at 9.8 watts, which seems to me at least, to work best with this coil.
Assuming the 'Buki holds 2mls (when measured properly :)), at 12.4 watts, I am getting only 3 tanks - 6mls - on a Radius charge. I don't get it. Seems as though my battery should be lasting a bit longer, based on yours and others' experience.

I shouldn't be using this as the flavor is "too good" lol.

Well see how this build treats me. I forgot to take a pic after juiced and tucked... But that shows how much cotton I got in there.

I dont have a Kabuki but I have tanks with prebuilt coils - GS Air - hubbys GS Air with the same liquid I am vaping will last him maybe 3 to 4 days on an istick (dont ask) however, me - I can go a week to 10 days on the same coil and I vape at least 5 to 6ml a day on that one tank alone. I think it is the way ProVape sends the power to the atty...sounds cray-cray but I'm telling you I can taste the difference between a Provari and an istick with the same tank and forget about using the same volt settings...Provari does taste much better too!

by_the by... about 50/50 9mg light color DIY

It certainly could be the Provari some, but then I used my Provari with Nauty's and I never got coil life like this out of my Nauty's on a Provari.

Make an experiment. Try to use one of your old tanks, Nautilus, side by side with the kabuki. If you're willing :)

R

No can do there R. You see I no longer have a Nauty to use. I gave my P3 Nauty to Kat and I gave the last Nauty I had to the Cable guy, along with a P2.5 to help him get off cigs. I'm a Nauty-Free house.

Not necessarily Robin. I believe the Kabuki holds 3ml of juice, not 2. So you're getting 9ml of juice in 3 tanks at 12.4 watts, that's not bad at all. I'm getting 4 tanks or 12ml at 9.8 watts. I think they're comparable given your wattage is higher.

Tell me how it works out for you. I would have ...maybe.. taken a bit less. Then again, I dunno what juice you're using.

We'll see if I get any leaks when I fill. I think that's where I ran into issues? Heck I can't remember... It's feeding just fine right now though and looks great!

With the PMMA tank one does not have the problem with leaking after filling. Maybe that's my advantage there.

RB, I think it doesn't hold 3 mls ... I measured using a syringe, yesterday. I got a drop shy of 2.5 mls. Doesn't much matter; I'm not complaining! I was just concerned that there might be an issue cuz all y'all said your battery was lasting days and days. I can't get a full day out of an 18650 in a P3, either. Prolly I just vape too much

I do have one of those. Kinda 6 in one, half dozen in the other I would think as they're basically the same design. The PMMA just replaces the bottom metal piece - right?
