I figure some people have different ways of charging their Radius, I wanted to ask how and what you are using to charge and how long it takes to charge :)

Should take about 3 hours.

Started the charge around 8am and I just checked it, (4:50pm) the battery icon is full but still has the lighting bolt on it :?:

The charger in the Radius probably charges at full speed, then towards the very end, switches to a trickle charge mode.

So I'm guessing the USB cable for some reason is only letting it charge at 0.5A instead of 1A

The cable won't limit the charge rate - only the wall adapter and the charger itself.

How high of Amps does the Radius charge at?

800mA

It can charge at UP TO 800MaH if the wall wart can sustain that rate.

Ahem, Mr. Spelling Corrector. Small "m", large "A", no "H". ;)

Why such a low charge rate? Modern Li-Ion batteries can take a much higher charge rate without damaging them. My work mod is the rDNA30 which also charges at 800mah and it takes almost 4 hours to fully charge the LG HG2. This might actually make me decide not to buy the Radius.

The Nitecore charges at 750mA, unless you have a 4-bay and use two bays on the same channel, in which case it charges each at 375mA. The Xtar VP4 charges 2 cells at your choice of 250mA, 500mA, or 1000mA, unless you use two bays on the same channel, in which case you're limited to 500mA. Not many chargers charge at 1A, and only one I know of will charge at 2A. So, 800mA is not that low in the grand scheme of things. The slower you charge, the less heat is produced, the less danger involved, and the longer the battery lasts.

I'm still here on ECF... sort of. ;)

What I don't understand is why the radius is priced at 200 dollars and the p3 is priced mostly above that when the radius uses superior tech is it just material choice polycarbonate cheaper to machine then titanium or steel and cheaper to source

I'm not sure if we're comparing apples to androids on the price of these two devices. Much like most (all) Provape choices, they made the their own decisions, and those decisions were based on what they built, after the devices were created.

Before I kew the Radius was to have a plastic body, I would have guessed it to be higher priced than P3, but materials make a world of difference, as far as raw material price, manufacturing and finishing costs......

True. I don't own a 200 as I have no need for the wattage. Just taking into account that the board is smart enough to balance charge lipos and also do multiple 18650s is enough to convince me.
There are several off the shelf micro charging boards with those features. Evolv never made thier other charging boards so no reason to think otherwise now.

So, I really need to know this important information. I hope you can help me with it. What color did everyone pick for their button?[emoji1] I'm kind of liking, Aqua.[emoji4]

Off the shelf doesn't mean it's not as, or more advanced.

There's a world of difference between a cheap PCB, and Class rated boards. A cheap board wouldn't even withstand a heat stress test, which in the lab I work at is to dip it in 550 degree solder for 10 seconds, letting it cool, and repeating 5 times. A cheap board separates, blisters and delaminates. Even paper thin Class 3 boards pass this test. There's quite a lot of engineering and chemistry which goes into making reliable boards, which is cost prohibitive for nearly all mod makers...

Each person has to assess their own level of risk tolerance. Gather the info that you can, decide whose opinions and marketing efforts that you trust, and decide based on that.

And try not to listen to random voices in your head.
But the random voices give the best conversations ;)

Wow! I am absolutely floored by the level of customer care from Provape.
If you've been following, I have had issues with my new Radius, charge lasted about five hours and then the unit died. Couldn't even re-charge it. I let my problem be known here on the forums and was thinking about submitting a ticket, but never did - thought I play around with it and see.

Well, out of the blue, I get a phone call from @Vape360. He was concerned about my issues and wanted to set it right. I had a nice conversation with him and we came to the conclusion there was a high probability it might be a bad Samsung battery. But just to be sure, he wants to send out a new unit and have me return mine so the engineers can look at and see if there are issues that need to be addressed.

To me, this is unbelievable! Talk about above and beyond. Jeez...

It was interesting to note that @Vape360 told me that out of the thousands they have put out there so far, only 3 or 4 have had problems that needed a return. That follows what I heard on someone's Vape Program when they interviewed a Provape executive who mentioned their return rate was 1/2 of 1%. Pretty damn good track record.

Especially when they jump all over the known problems like they are doing now. I will probably never buy another brand of equipment again. Bring on Black Friday - I'm loving that Stealth Titanium P3 when my points mature.
Leave it to me to be in the 1/2% [emoji14]

Cables actually CAN limit your charge rate

Haha yep.... Maybe we should try the lottery??

And the question asked on the last page (via Tapatalk) - mine was black.

Don't even stress about it. You all see first hand how amazingly quickly Provape fixed us up. Was hardly even a mild inconvenience. Now they're serving as cadavers for the engineers! Haha.

For the record I like this Midnight Blue more every day. It really grew on me.

Black is classic (and classy) but this blue is awesome in its own right. You rally can't go wrong with any of these colors (in the looks dept) as far as I can tell.
