But, Rebel, I wonder how many of these companies have product liability insurance, and not only that but policies that are written correctly? I'll bet not many. I review dozens of policies a week and most are not worth a damn. People just bought something either on purpose or got ripped off by a policy that says they have X coverage, when it's really Z, and Z doesn't cover much. I'm guessing, of course, but I'll bet ProVape and Zen come closer to having the correct coverage than most of the other companies.
Zen, I'm totally in your corner here about safety and dumbing devices down to protect us all from the idiocy of the lowest common denominator, but when you make statements like "And my eyes tell me it can't fit two batteries... so, that's just really not going to happen," I gotta wonder what's actually going on in your head. I know you've seen the pictures Nick Green took after he pried the cover off the iStick 50 he dropped in the ocean. The "lipo pack" in that mod is nothing more than two 18650s hard-wired together. The mod itself is literally the exact size of a plastic 2-cell battery case, and manages to incorporate not only a dual 18650 setup, but also a USB charge port, along with the chip, screen, connectors, etc. If Joyetech can make that work, there is no reason whatsoever that Provape can't.
Wow the man him self Zen has chimed in....Below 15 watts, maybe for the most part, but in the world of RDA/RBA atomizers I would think builds below 1.0 ohms are the norm... 20 watts seems like a real limiting factor..... Better to have more power and not use it then to not have enough... But that's just my opinion...
Zen attys are restricted when it comes to air flow so I guess higher ohm builds work well... Myself I like an RDA that can pull enough air through to keep up with a sub ohm build... Right now my favorite RDA's are my Kennedy and Velocity..

First off, it's great to see a USB portI hope it's a Data & Charge port.
But that on the bottom looks, to me, like a locking knob. Which would make me believe that the whole bottom cap comes off.So I would think the whole bottom cap comes off to put 2 batteries in

Yea! It's a locking "lever" of some sort. Might be one on the other side? Remove the base and one half is sealed which contains the chip and electronics/etc. Break the seal and you void the warranty. The other half is for the single bat. That configuration is already used on many single bat Box Mods.
In a regulated mod, you have to talk about amp limits for both the battery and the board. Resistance of the atomizer is irrelevant to the number of amps drawn from the battery. A 1-ohm atty and a 0.1-ohm atty draw the same current from the battery, at the same wattage setting. However, the lower the voltage in the battery, the higher the current draw, at the same wattage setting. As volts go down, amps go up to maintain constant wattage.
Everyone who does calculations based on 4.2V is missing the point (even in a mechanical, where voltage sag due to high current demand means NOBODY is firing at 4.2V on a fresh charge). The battery voltage you need to be using for your current calculations, based on your wattage setting in a regulate mod, is the mod's battery voltage cutoff voltage.
As I mentioned earlier, with a 3.3V cutoff, 60W will pull about 20A depending on mod efficiency, so 60W is the limit for most high-end batteries. Now if the modder set the low voltage cutoff higher, you could go beyond 60W to reach 20A, but battery life would be pretty bad. These are the decisions the modder needs to make - longer battery life with a lower wattage rating, or shorter battery life with a higher wattage rating to keep it relatively safe.

Oh this was so close... Until that last paragraph we were on the same page. And even the last paragraph would be correct if a manufacturer was willing to produce a device that leaves NO headroom for the aging process of the battery... That 20a limit of the cell is when it is fresh and healthy... as the battery ages it does indeed go down, so there must be headroom... how much will ProVape feel is enough? I'm guessing they will leave 40-50% so your Radius shoukld end up above 30 watts, but by how much, we do not know until they reveal.
Except, there are other variables at play, so I was generalizing. One such variable is that we've been discussing the constant discharge of a cell. Most of these high-end cells are rated 20-25A *continuous*, but with much higher pulse ratings. Depending on the definition of "pulse" by the manufacturer, 20A could already be at the safe 50% rating. A 35A 8-second pulse is well below the draw time most vapers use, and 8 seconds is the definition of pulse by one manufacturer (I forget which one, otherwise I'd quote it). So, considering we're basing our safety limits on the *continuous* current rating, that negates the aging of the cells for our purposes, IMHO. But, like I said, there are a LOT of variables. I've stated in other ProVape threads that they should include a battery with the mod, with no way to get one without a battery, and recommend only that brand/model be used with their product, not only for safety, but also liability.
Yeah, yeah, so I go with Zen here....I just want reliable FLAVOR, and NIC!Lol... you guys and the 50 watts... it appears to have an 18650... it's not gonna be 50 watts.
