The real important question is what do Box mod vape folks use to keep their mod's held in place while driving? Huh? What? I bought one of these from Provape to keep my P3 safe while not in use in the car. It's been great.

Here's what I did: I took a gas station Styrofoam coffee cup and the bubble wrap my original 2.5 came in, along with a couple other wads of bubble wrap I had around from other things. I wrapped enough of the bubbles around my box (the iStick 50 I mentioned waaaaaaaaaaaay back) to match the inner diameter of the cup, then stuffed enough Kleenex into the bottom to keep the mod from sliding down and bottoming out. It sits perfectly snug and safe, about half-submerged in its little cradle of bubbles, and doesn't shift or bounce out no matter how rough the road gets. And as a trucker, I suffer some pretty epic amplification of road bumpage.

J-Wraps have what you need RB. And you need a new one for your new car, and new mod.

I'll have to check out the J-Wraps offering. I use "Cup-Vapes", which is a nice balance between soft/hard rubber. They make them with 3 25mm holes, and one with a rectangular cutout for a box mod. My P3 sometimes shaves off a little bit of the rubber, but better wear on the mod holder than the mod. I don't use it much anymore though, since I've been taking public transportation instead of driving. My car will go 2 weeks without being started sometimes. Gas bill is 50%, and zero wear-and-tear on the car (not to mention no traffic stress, and time to pay bills, etc. while commuting).

I hate to be a pest, but please don't forget to use your epic skills to do the full metal jacket Radius ;)

I won't, but I can't get to it right away.

Actually, Sir ROD, Jackie has one of those in her blazer, too. I have one of those pocket thingy-ma-gingies that hang from the crack in your...middle of the dash. I suppose a box mod such as the ProVape ProVari Radius will sit rather well in the cup holder.

Oh Pumpkin, ya did well! Too cute. Throw a teal drip on that and call me Flipper.

'Brow, I was just marveling at your car's interior and reflecting back. It's so beautiful NOT to see ashes all over the car.

Innit GREAT! Truth be told though, even when I was a smoker, Charlie would never let me smoke in my car. NEVER. So, I just had to take frequent stops, 'ya know?!

You're screwed.

Noooooooooo......Provape won't do that to me. No they will not! If you're listening Provape Gods, we'll need car systems for our Rad's just like we did for our P1/2/2.5/3's

Hey, thanks. I'll have to check that out!

Thank you for this. But uh, my pea-sized brain didn't quite catch all of what you did, but I surely do applaud your creativity. Oh yes I do!

The bottom line is this isn't going to be a 60 or even 50 watt mod... ProVape is more conservative than that, and just because they COULD pull that much power by pushing their (and their customers) limits doesn't mean that even YOU think it's wise or prudent.

I agree - 35-40W at most. When the P3 was released, many shops gave ProVape customer feedback during the beta program, and the majority were not impressed with the 20W limit, and thought it should be 30-35W. Since we know the Radius will be "more than 30W", I put my bets on 35W (but will be pleasantly surprised if it's 40W).

ProVape did limit the P3 to 20W, which would be 6.4A @ 3.3V, when an AW 18350 was rated for 7A, but ProVape also had an amp limit and voltage limit to go along with the wattage limit, so it's possible for them to release a 60W mod, which drops output based on cell discharge, but now we're getting more advanced ;)

Love it! Maybe we should consider a portion of each Radius purchase goes toward 'lab-animal' rehabilitation.

For those wondering, the contest is still going until the 16th and on Friday this week we will have a surprise related to the contest.

Model - What we call it around here or to others, colors :)

This is the Cabernet Red - The actual device is darker, more like the name. Studio lights are good at changing colors.

Tidbit of the day - The Radius uses one 18650 cell, which will be included and it can be swapped out in less than 40 seconds.

More updates soon.....

Yeah that 8 minute run time might be a problem...

Kinda like the single battery 60 watt mod of mine that broke.

Not for me. I wanna all day vape.
..so many people Vape for 8 minutes continuously...at most 5-10 second pulls? So your magical 8 minutes you love to throw around would easily be a few hours of average vaping. Again, someone who doesn't Vape at high power blasting what they don't understand.

I guess 30+ years of working electronics knowledge, patents, and engineering school doesn't make me qualified to speak..but, the OP was not that far off.
power output (watts) = power in (watts) + overhead.
Assuming that the Baird is 90% efficiency (ProVape is 95%, but well error on the high side of loss to be safe)
60w output = 60watts input / 90% = ~66w total power consumed by the battery.
W = V*I. So assuming a battery cutoff of 3.3V, 3.3V * 20A = 66W power consumption by the battery. (If you want to calculate with a 95% efficiency, the consumption would be 63.1W, and at a 3.3v cutoff, it's now 19A at cutoff...and at 4v, which would be the average available voltage, you are sitting around 15a)
One factor that is overlooked (for good reason!), is that the CDR rating *IS* conservative, and has already factored in manufacturing tolerance, degradation over life of battery, as well as its padded a bit for good measure to protect against liability (I.e. The "idiot proofing factor").
With a good quality 20A battery, 60w is absolutely safe. 50 is even safer. And the fact that ProVape is including a good battery, and providing USB charging, a majority of users will never change the battery for at least the first year!

This is gibberish... no good designer would ever release a device to the public that expects the end user will run a battery to nearly 100% of the CDR. 60w is not "absolutely safe" on a 20A CDR battery no matter HOW conservative the CDR... 10A is "relatively safe"... 20A is foolishly risky.

I don't expect you to agree with me. I expect you to run back to VU with Chanara and complain more about my Hamsters, for what it's worth.

I would not be surprised to see the radius have an amp limit and voltage limit to go along with the wattage limit, but I would be very surprised to see it as high as even 50 watts.
