Provape is still a business and the 25r is still an exceptional battery. Saving 2 dollars per device sold adds up quickly. Say they sell 30,000 this year. That's an extra 60,000 dollars. Close to two employees salaries. Provape is all about safety, but they also aren't dumb.
I could also respectfully argue your point from another perspective. As pointed out, they have extensively tested the 25R including torture and venting. They have retained all that data. We live in a litigious society so in the event that someone sues them for something related to the 25R either directly or indirectly, they have mountains of valuable data to present in their defense. Not to mention, the 25R is already installed in a new device. In this case, 60K is chump change when compared to a million dollar judgment. I'm not an attorney but that's the way "smart" companies usually think: What can we do to mitigate a law suit. At least, that's the way I always viewed certain issues when I was self employed.
