Does unflavored extend the coil life?

it does - all my coils last a long while. I occasionally use light flavour in a dripper (less than 1%) and those coils don't stay as 'clean' as coils which have had only unflavoured.

I, too, have a P3 Kabuki and I can say that it is indeed a nice tank. I had a couple Nautilus coils, very old ones, and they did NOT work on my Kabuki as is… I had to get the bottom pin down a bit for them to make contact with my P3, the one supplied was perfect though. .

Just to add - my current Kabuki is a 510 so the P3 may be different.

Thanks! How would you compare the vape from the older coils to the newer ones? Do you see or taste any difference?

My take on old versus new:

The old ones wick better and last longer.
The new ones taste better imo.

I generally get a week or a bit less out of the new ones.

Good to know. It's a least nice to know I can use the older coils, if'n I get a Kabuki!

I knew in my heart, having read about your posts about the taste tests, that the Nautilus coil is the way to go.
I just wish they'd release a 1.2-1.4ohm, that doesn't "break in" and increase in resistance so drastically like the 1.6 & 1.8's do. The 1.6's I order always end up at 1.8-1.9...I fire them at 10 watts...

I hadn't ever done the math, but I KNEW that building my Kayfuns at 1.2-1.4 ohms seemed to give me longer battery run time...all my mech-mod friends thought I was crazy.

So I got thinking about this. Think the P3 and the Radius have the same chip/hardware. But the Radius having a newer firmware which allows .3 ohms, and 40 watts. Just wrapped up in a nice new box??? Just random food for thought....

It was stated that this is an all new chip.

Wow you are lucky. I still have an use three of my original Lemos. The AFC is constantly moving. I even put a tight o-ring on the bottom post screw in hopes of holding it in place but it still seems to loosen after a few tanks. That is the one thing that makes the Lemo 2 so much better IMO. I just wish they would make the next gen Lemo with the ability to rebuild without emptying.

I like it at it's most open setting...from there it doesn't move (I can easily just remove it then, but never bothered since it never moved on me), so yea I guess I'm lucky that way.

ETA: I never got on the lemo 2 because they did not change the only issues I have with the Lemo 1... difficult build (by today's standards) deck, and inability to change wicks without emptying. Can't wait to see if they address those issues for V3.

You may have more problems with the old ones firing in the P3 Kabuki because of differences in the length of the coils.

This is not as much of an issue with the 510 Kabuki.

For all I know Zen~ and ProVape may have sorted this out already..

I do use the S wick. The first two times I built it, I did not use it and got horrible wicking issues. So naturally, I hit YouTube and found that video lol. I'm sure I could prefect it so it doesn't leak, but for me, it really is a non-issue to bottom fill, so I just went with that instead. Although, I suppose moving the AFC while bottom-filling is an issue, so I should try to perfect it, except I'm not really motivated because the Crown is not my favorite atm (it's a great tank though).

Makes sense and I understand your perspective. I use KGD with both sides of the pad peeled off to expose the fluffy stuff. It's still tricky because the deck is so small but for me, it's a hedge against obsolescence because someday the heads will no longer be available and I enjoy building with my KFL+'s. Which reminds me /lol ... I'm not sure if you have ever taken a head apart but they are composed of very small pieces of organic cotton sandwiched together. Think lots of them and with the SS in power mode it makes for an outstanding flavor machine which is what I chase. I'm not a high wattage cloud chaser so it was a pleasant surprise. With 4 huge juice holes in the head it's a very very very thirsty "piglet" and I wish it held more juice. Also, the heads require a longer prime and break in period otherwise the flavor is yuk. That of course was my first mistake.

Excellent! I wouldn't surprise me if I could take a kayfun lite+ v2 poly tank and shave it down and dremel it to make my own!

(I did this with my KF4 middle tank section)

Ah okay, I must have missed that. I really wish they had a battery percentage vs the battery graph. Or so it seems according to the images/manual on the Radius.

Apparently, one can only purchase a P3 threaded Kabuki from Provape. But if'n I want a 510, I can not only get 11% off (through October 31st) plus free shipping from Mount Baker Vapor. But Zen and a good buddy here have both suggested there is a real advantage to getting the P3 threaded version. If'n I get one, I will then wait for Provape to have a site-wide sale.

Yep, it really is if'n. I'm certainly not having any issues with my two KFL+ on Plasma Tanks and my Kebo Russian 91% V2 systems.

I have Two 510 Kabuki (s?) that I use on 2.5s around the house.

My daily carry is a Ti Mini 2.75 with a P3 Kabuki. For life. yaaaahhhhh....

Yes. Nothing to gunk up the coil. I vape unflavored sometimes and those coils last forever. Some juice I've had required me to rewick daily.

Zen according to your chart it seems as if 20 watts or less gives the best flavor and uses way less power. I would assume my P3's are perfect for the Kabuki. Correct?7

The problem comes when they look at just the coil, and not the system in which the coil resides. Knowing Ohms law is swell, but knowing how it actually is applied in systems is really pretty darned important, as the chart illustrates.

It was stated that this is an all new chip.

The board is over twice the size of the P3 board... the component count on that sucker is impressive.

I thought Tim said they simplified the menu as well in that PoH interview.

Just to add - my current Kabuki is a 510 so the P3 may be different.

P3 Kabuki makes contact to negative via the P3 threads and to positive via the bottom pin of the Nautilus head directly, so it's a direct connection. If not firing, it's just a matter of pulling the head pin down carefully and that works fine. Problem might not happen with newer coils at all.
