I'm trying to compute this. If you didn't cancel your order, wouldn't you have gotten it sooner than if you canceled the order and ordered it later, even if the later order came in 3 days?

Tap the fire button 4 times and see if the menu comes up. If it does:

Settings
Display
Time
Off, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 (corresponds to how many seconds the screen stays lit from none to 5 seconds

Have a look at the menu for display duration and make sure it's not set to off.
