As for TC with squape using Ni200, despite the variation with the centerpin, I still prefer it to other atties I've gotten. Each time I invest in a different atty, I always end up ditching it & coming back to the squape for its ease of coil setup, juice capacity & unparalleled flavor. The pin variance is something I've learned to correct & though it takes some tweaking initially, I've got it down to under a minute after which its perfect often after recoiling numerous times.

Just got a SQuape Rs, kinda impressed overall, I like it better than my kayfun 4. Also surprised that I was able to fit this coil into it.. Fused Clapton 28 gauge N80 with 36 gauge N80 wrapped around in ata .22 ohms.
From next time you wick or coil can u take a side way photo along the channels? Want see the profile.

Fit in it or on it? Lol! Wrapping it in that direction (counterclockwise wraps) will inevitably make every coil sit above the channel/deck but due to the shear thickness of the wire combined with that large of a diameter of the coil, it would never fit in that wide deck channel even if wrapped clockwise.

How does it vape sitting that high? I imagine it might be on the harsh side.

I was thinking that the condensation drop back must be a killer. The square like all good tanks suffered from fall back, when juice gathers in the chimney and drops back into the wick leaving a very sour taste until u change the wick. Kayfun v4 is fall back king. Squape is much better but still very 10-15ml I need to clean out the chimney with some cotton buds. Might try a build out top as well and see how it vapes. Agree with 1001, vape will be drier and Squape is already a dry vape as it is. Good stuff though.

My SQuape R(s) arrived yesterday, and I did my first build on the wide deck, man on man is it easy. No dry hits and great flavour. I also have a Kayfun V4 that I love, but the Squape is the king in my arsenal now. Now if they only did a P3 connector I would be in heaven vape heaven.

Right this Ohm jumping malarky is doing my nut in lol, ive bought 3 new pins all 3 the same issue, ohms jump around with Kanthal builds, ive not even tried TC builds considering i cant get the resistance stable.

Right my coil is supposed to be 1.2ohm, which is 28AWG around 2.5mm bit, 6 wraps. Ok thats the easy part, according to steam engine this is bang on, but with a stange range of 1.13 to 1.22ohm depending if its rounded or not. The issue i have is the DNA40 resistance changes, so for one minute the resistance is 1.15ohm, but fire and it drops to 1.13 then back to 1.15, but the next fire it goes up and comes down to a new resting resistance like 1.13...But all these are within the range steam engine says, so is the DNA40 too sensitive and picking up the range meaning its all good, or do i have a dodgy base.

The coil legs are wrapped 1 full turn around the screws and tightened down to prevent any loose legs at all. Hopefully this makes sense, but its starting to annoy me that it works for some and not for me lol.

I started having similar problems last night on a pretty well brand new R(s) - I am very frustrated too

Its an effect of having an adjustable center pin. I also bought a few brandy new center pins direct from Stattqualm and the issue persisted. If the pin was the issue, simply cleaning it off would help.
What I found works best is, with a newer DNA40, locking the ohms in on a resistance its supposed to be. Once locked you don't have to worry much.
I haven't vaped anything but my squape for the past year and I've only ever run Ni200 on it. It can be a testy pain at times, but I use the adjustable centerpin/adjustable ohms to my benefit. If the Ω jumps too high, screw it off, throw a fingernail into the pin and give it a little nudge or wiggle & when screwed back on, the Ω goes back down.
In some ways its sort of nice not having to wait 10 mins for the atty to cool to recalibrate an accurate resistance.

Its just annoying to be honest, my K4 with the dodgy spring doesnt jump around at all, yet this with a more in theory solid connection just jumps around - i wonder if there is any type of conductive glue or something that would be safe to fix the 510 in place, as with most mods they have a spring loaded connector these days..time to search.

ok, jumping ohm and error reading fixed...

I dismantled, cleaned the pin and contact points with alcohol, made a new coil, wicked and all is perfect once again. I say perfect loosely as I am still a noob and this is my 4th coil and wick build.

Am hoping this full service in not going to be needed each time. But the reality is that once I decided to stop messing about with each area separately and start again it wasn't too time consuming or frustrating.

the above wick is actually flush with the deck, just a weird angle showing part of the channel
