20141123_164516.jpgOk, a bad pic and it will likely be sideways. Its also a little slanted. My cat kept going after it in the table so I set it on the couch. Its the best I could do with a phone.

Hi forum folks! I've been browsing ECF for a while now for product info and build ideas, but I'm loving my Squape R so much I just can't keep quiet any longer. This seems like a great community and I'm happy to be here. Now, down to business

Like I said, I'm loving the Squape. Like Brick i had to wait an extra day for my W deck to arrive. I spent the first day throwing build after build (always with cotton) into the S deck but kept getting burnt hits and poor vapor, I was pretty bummed about the performance but once my W deck arrived everything changed and I couldn't be happier. Every Time I open up the SQ R I'm amazed that I can fiddle with my wick and coil without spilling so much as a drop of juice. Since I started dripping I've been missing my mouth-to-lung hits (I love the flavor you get from them) but with the SQ R i can do my MTL hits and if I'm in the mood for a bit of a nic rush I just open 'er up and the SQ R handles that perfectly too. Vapor production isn't as dense as a dripper but I'm never left wanting, and flavor is outstanding, as good as a dripping. Get one while you can!

Let's see some more pix of the wide deck builds! I'm having trouble with mine flooding right now, and in the course of my tests I'm getting way over-nic'd. I need some 0mg nicotine juice for tests and am currently using 12. I may experiment with a little larger tails, but I'm mostly adjusting coil height

I'm running an 8 wrap around a 1/8'' bit with 24awg Kanthal running at 0.8ohms stuffed with more organic Japanese cotton than I thought possible and its been heaven!

I was having trouble with flooding and muted flavors until I reversed my coil direction and flipped it over, then raised it up out of the well a little.

This morning I decided to try tapering the wick ends into wings like this. My hope was to increase the number of wick ends coming into contact with the liquid that fills in the channels. I must say, so far the results are fantastic. While i wasn't getting burnt hits with straight ends I could tell they were just about to start.

I'm using a 2.5 mm, so I could go slightly bigger, but not much. Juice is full, but coils are somewhat above the deck. I was under the impression that having them above the deck would help prevent flooding. I'm using Koh Gen Do cotton. I have Rayon, but haven't mastered it yet. I've been using KGD for months with my other devices

If the coil is level with the deck channel would that not keep more wick for longer in the channel? That is my thought anyways and works so far for me. Also 2.5 leaves .5 mm more cotton in the channel for me thus less chance to leak. I have my ends cut flush with the end of the deck. Not even a touch over the edge. Do everything you have been doing but make a 3mm and when you look through your wick channel make it so you are looking through your coil also. See if that helps you out. Best of luck. Squape is a pure joy when you find the sweet spot

Well I dropped my coil down, just about identical to lazybulldogs (props!) and rewicked and was still getting dry hits. So I tried wicking it with a bit less cotton, more like my Trident V2 on my reo and Tada! I'm certain my cotton was choking at the coil because it was pretty tight. I figured this out because the cotton was saturated when I pulled it apart and it was still hissing after I took a draw, so with the lesser amount of cotton, it's flowing alot smoother and working fantastic!

Guess I should have read more new posts before doing my reply. Glad to hear you have a build that is working great for you!

Hehe it was a false alarm anyway. I'll try a wider bit. Maybe a 5/64 or 3/32. My coil jig only goes to 2.5mm, so I'll have to break out the drill bits and do it oldschool

Is it still leaking? I use 7/64" which is about 2.8mm. I'm wicking with rayon so I can't advise on Koh Gen Do properties. I get a good amount of rayon in there though. Make sure those top wick channels are filled and even a bit still on top. Of course my rayon is shrinking then once saturated.

The 7/64" is right about the diameter of that wick slot.

believe it or not, I actually tried a 9/64" and it was just massive. much larger than the channels on the wide deck. Scrapped that one before I even tried to wick it and redid a coil around a pen ink cartridge, which I bet comes darn near 7/64". I did something like 7 wraps and used 26 gauge this time instead of 28 gauge. Since I'm primarily using it on the P3, I need to keep my ohms below 1.8 to achieve 20 watts, and this one came out at 1 ohm. It's doing very nicely this time around and the most success I've had thus far. I suppose the SQuape likes very large coils. Has a fair ramp up time, which I'm alright with, and the P3 has boost mode, and I'm using 5 boost.

Minor gurgling occasionally, but no dry hits at 17 watts. Haven't pushed it to 20 yet. Hey it's a heck of alot better than my late kayfun and erlkonigin! Looks real slick on my Templar clone in 18350 mode though, it's just an itty bitty guy with a big atty on top. Thanks all, I'm one step closer to nailing the perfect build, and this one is extremely close. Just needs a tiny bit of refining

Yeah, that W deck needs a big coil. I never have tried any of my other decks. I have all of them for my clones, but Kingtu apparently had no idea what the C deck was supposed to look like, lol! Its a medium sized W or S deck.

I may try the C deck on my Ivogo clone though to see if I can bring it back to life. Unfortunately, the posts on it are too large to fit authentic or Kingtu decks.

Once you find the right size coil, the SqR is a really awesome vape.

I finally received my SQR from Cloud 9 Monday afternoon. I also ordered with it the W deck.

The waiting was worth it!!! Seemed like it was taking forever to get to SW FL. Sat in Tampa from Fri till early Monday morning. Tampa is only about 3 1/2-4 hours north of me. If I knew exactly where it was & if I knew they would have released it to me, I might have taken a little trip there.

Worked perfect right out of the box (after I cleaned it). Unfortunately the S deck does not fit my FT clones, but no major deal with it.

I compared my 2 clones against the original. From the exterior, you can hardly tell a difference other than the triangle window shapes are a little bit wider on the authentic. The major difference is the quality & the coating on the decks. There is no comparison. The vape is the same, I built them the same.

It is well worth purchasing the authentic, even if its for peace of mind. Every time I vaped on those clones, I constantly was checking the ohm's to make sure nothing moved or was shorting out. Had to have them on a VV/VW just for safety. I was using my Vamo's with a 510 extension to save the threads on the Vamo & it didn't look very pretty with the SQR on top of it. It's so nice to put my authentic on a mech mod.

Hi everyone,

I bought the squape a few months ago. WOW. Never had a atty this amazing. The flavour and clouds seriously wow. I did have to say though sometimes i would get dry hits alot of the time especially when the tank is full. I just take tiny vapes while i closed the air hole to get juice back in. My coils are in the well it self and not raised, using 2.5mm screwdriver, 32mm kanthal about 4wraps making around 1ohm.

I came in to a few issues recently when i bought my provari p3.
As the instructions said to tighten the 510 connector down with a coin i did. it was solid.
Connected my awesome squape and was amazing!
IMG_20141126_211157.jpgIMG_20141126_211205.jpgIMG_20141126_211012.jpg
Untill i had to take the squape off. The 510 connector came off too. Basically it wouldnt come off. For days tried diffrent methods and finally putting it in the freezer did the trick! (need to buy another 510 connector now whic is cool) but have scratched the aluminium body and the base of the deck.

IMG_20141127_211917.jpg
So i coiled it up and put new e juice in to get my squape back up and running. When i screw in the base to the aluminium body, it does a quarter turn and stops. It doesnt screw in fully. So i tried my original silver metal body and same thing. Theres something wrong with my base threads.
Any ideas what i can do? The squape currently sets me back £170 :ohmy:with the black aluminium body w deck etc and i really dont just want to buy another! Had to source this from France!
I need it up and running ASAP!

Is the threading still smooth when you do your 1/4 turn to attach the body/tank to the base? Those threads are pretty large and you should be able to see/feel any kind of deformities in it. Sounds to me like the chimney might be bottoming out onto the build deck somehow. Maybe when you tightened the positive pin into the atomizer deck you pushed something up causing the entire ematal build deck to rise out of the base. A similar thing happens with my Magma.

Do you have a Dremel? Try a wire brush attachment to clean the threads. Sounds like a bur or at some point you cross threaded it.

Worst case scenario, Cloud9 has bases you can buy.

Wanted to share today's build because I really like it. Twisted 30 gauge, 6 wraps on 2.8mm ID (7/64"). Comes in at 1.0 ohm. Slightly lifted. Vaping at 18W.

Any chance of a pic or two on your next re-wick? I haven't tried twisted wire on anything yet but the Squape has me wanting to try and I just so happen to have some 30awg right here ...

Hi bud,

The ematel deck fits perfectly. Can put the screws on too.
It's as if something is stopping it from screwing down properly.
The threads on the base seem fine also. Will check the chimney aswell but I'm sure it's screwed in tight

Maybe has been cross threaded. Nope no dremmel :(
Didn't even take the body off or play around with it while the base was stuck.
Yes they do but at 60pounds the squape alone would have cost me well over 220pounds :(

Any other ideas?

Sure thing. Just bear in mind it will be a crummy phone pic, but maybe I can take it outside. I've pretty much vaped it up already and might redo it this afternoon :). I have all this 30g wire I have no use for so this is what I've been doing with it.

Take it to a machine shop? If you have a local tech/vocational school they would fix it for a small donation.

Hi,

Unfortunately no one like that hear in the UK. However you inspired me to call my mechanic who said no harm in ringing this company that deal with cross threads.

Will see how it goes :) sounds promising tbh.

On another note how do you improve throat hit?with out increasing nicotine levels? Currently on 12mg.

A mechanic was going to be my other suggestion. Anyone who works on vehicles or machinery deals with this stuff all the time.

As for throat hit, play with your coil height. Generally closer to the airhole, more throat hit.
