Here's the proof of the PWM, http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/provari/381232-provari-oscope-vs-vamo-print.html 800hz vs 37hz.
I regularly drop my Provari 3' onto concrete to prove the point of it's durability, my buddy with a Zmax, he wont! He cringes every time he accidentally drops his Zmax!
As for being built to mil spec being marketing hype, how many manufactures RECOMMEND you wash their mod out with alcohol to keep things working well? Let's see your Vamo go through the washing machine and still work, yes, it's been done!
If you don't want to spend the money, then be a tight !@#, I don't care, but don't come telling me it's $150 more, which it's not, and it's not this or that, when you obviously have no clue what it is or isn't! Do a little research before running your mouth next time. There's plenty of these threads on here you could read, but obviously choose not to.

Been looking at the Reo as well, like the bottom feed aspect, not sure about the box though

I have a mini. Of course, it's thicker, but otherwise it's smaller than a credit card. It's perfect for stealth vaping and the batteries are tiny enough to carry extras. The only reason I don't recommend it to new vapers is that it's not designed to switch flavors frequently. You can, but it's a hassle changing bottles and cleaning out the tube if the flavors are radically different. However if you have one flavor you like, a little Reo with a 1.5Ω atty kicks major bunny but*. :)

In the short time here, I've read just about everything here from microcoiling to AO composits, I have a technical background, and I'm just trying to learn what's what, without all the hype about how a device looks, just trying to get the best vape I can with the device lasting the longest time between battery swaps and feeling good in my hand

Most all Chinese mods are set at 37.5hz, the Evic is an exception to this, it's 103hz, the Provari is 800hz, as shown in the link above.
Most all Chinese mods use the softest aluminum they can get for the 510 connection, the SS Zmax is an exception to this, but it's still a softer SS than Provapes.
The Evic had a problem with the head falling off, they added two screws on V3? to fix this.
The Sigeile uses two 18350's and a Buck circuit to attempt to get the stabilization the Provari has, but we have been trying to get away from stacking batteries for a while because of the inherit dangers.
I can go on and on and on, but I think you should get the point now. Buzz pro or Infinity plus are the next best thing, but they require stacking batteries and use a buck circuit to do the same thing the Provari can do with a single battery. In fact, it's the same chipset that is used in the VV Reo mods.

Just from what you said here and now you should get the Provari. I have used a Vamo. It is no Provari.

How long does the battery last, I'm vaping about 4/5 ml per day

Agree with you, I do not want to stack any Li battery,

Get what you want Bob, I have several devices and use them all. The Spinner and a small box known as a V8 are my take alongs. For home the ProVari and two Sigelei Zmaxes get about equal use, with the Vamo and a #8 mech getting a little less.

I tend to keep different toppers and juices on my stuff and rotate between devices, which is why I have so many in use at once. I can't fault any of them, they all do what they are supposed too, ProVari is just a better built device, which is why I got one. :vapor:

Had one in the cart from a Vapor Joes special $35 off deal, so I'm not busting anything here, then I read their documentation and didn't find anything there to make me pull the trigger, saw this thread and was hoping someone had something to push me over
Not my purpose in life to convince you to buy a Provari, but in case you are interested:

I rotate devices, so I don't often have a problem with batteries not lasting. I have the smallest mini, which takes 14500 batteries. Mine are 600mAh and I don't think they are available with more. The batteries are only 2" long and smaller in diameter than a AA, so it's not a problem for me to have a couple in my purse, briefcase, drawer, locker, whatever. There is a mini 2.1 that takes a bigger battery and the Reo Grand. There is also a vv model, but I wanted a mechanical. I have tube mods for vv.

Sounds good, the juice for me is the last step, bought a few ready made ones, then decided to roll my own, pretty much just a plaything for me though, as I don't like too much sweet & gunky juices, I pretty much stick to menthol with a touch of vanilla. Sometimes I add some TPA & Stevia for a change, but that's about it, so one 'in' device and one 'out' device is fine for me

I see many have multiple devices here, maybe I'm just lazy, but two are all I really want to deal with for now, its just which two. The REO is really sounding good to me, prob. the mechanical one, love the idea of filling it once per day, without a big tank to lug around
