OK Let's try the Coffee

1 drop per 10mls TFA coffee
3% Cream
2% Carmel
2 drops em

Let it steep a couple of days and you can adjust from there. If you don't like Carmel Coffee leave it out and increase the cream to 4% or use the vanilla instead.

Good Luck
Dee

Oh man I put 12% of coffee flavor... no wonder why it testes so darn bad haha Will try that. Thanks a bunch

I admit this is my first shot at DIY. I got a bunch of flavors, PG, VG and Nic. All flavors but one are from TFA I mies according to the recommendations here on ECF and all I get is either: no flavor, nasty tasting perfume or desolated horribly sweet candy. My coffee tastes like it was sitting in a coffee pot for a week and been burned one too many times. Tried it 8% and 12%. Tried it after a week, 2 weeks and 3 weeks. No change. Black Honey tobacco tastes like I'm drinking perfume. 5% after 3 weeks. Same with DK Tobacco and Maxx. All at 5%. I'm not even going to mention Black Cherry and Blueberry which are just nasty at 5% and 15%. TA Vanilla at 2% is anything but vanilla. I can go on and on but you get the picture. I mean the cheapo stuff from fasttech is 1000 times better than anything I was able to make. What am I doing wrong? Any words of wisdom? Suggestions or recommendations I could try?

I have very few TPA flavors. I find them too perfumery. For a no fuss tobacco/variants I would suggest Hangsen flavorings.

How new of a vaper are you? I couldn't taste a thing (including food) early on, nothing tasted good. It also helps (when you find flavors you like) to switch them up at least every other day, if not more often. Good luck.

The thing is that the eliquid I buy tastes good so it's not my taste buds that are all messed up. It's the stuff I make :) I have coffee from Fasttech that is light years better than my coffee and I have plenty of liquid from other vendors which I can't even compare to the junk that came out from my DIY

That's the problem. They are too perfumery!!! I feel like I'm drinking Old Spice when I vape this stuff :)

Oh, I know they smell like old lady's talcum or perfume. Nasty stuff! Honestly, people rave over TFA and I don't get it. After 2.7 years of DIY I still cannot stand it. The sweet cream, mocha, and cotton candy are vapable.

I have a lot of TPA flavors... some are good, some are bad, and many are somewhere between. It's really hit or miss with them - and frustrating when you're starting out. I especially had a hard time with TPA tobaccos. I've found Capellas to be good much more consistently when it comes to desserts, and for tobacco I'd definitely go with Sdh's recommendation of Hangsens.

Hi,
I'm a newbie in DIY also. Need to confirm a few things, If I have a premix 12mg 70/30 eliquid, I can just add the flavor, sweetener and menthol/koolada as I like right?

Another thing, I have ordered a few Lorann and TPA flavor, while some Capela Dessert flavor are on the way.

For the first few tests, I will not try and get too fancy. I will only do a straight flavor, e.g.

10mg pg/vg : 8ml
Tropical punch flavor : 1ml
Sweetener (Sucralose base) : 0.5ml
Koolada : 0.5ml

That's it for a 10ml. Will the above be find or is it going to be a disaster? I am particularly not sure about the sweetener and koolada portion that I should mix.

Are there any tips you guys can share with me on this??

Thanks!!!!

That seems like too much flavoring and way too much sweetener to me. For example when I make 40ml of my Raspberry Limeade.
I use the following:

2ml pomegranate Wizard Labs
1ml cotton candy Wizard Labs
12 drops lime oil (½ Dropperfull) LorAnns
2 Dropperfulls of Raspberry LorAnns
3 drops stevia to Go Walmart
10ml VG Walmart
3ml nicotine 100 mg/ml PG Wizard Labs
19ml PG Wizard Labs

Finished product is
9mg/ml Nicotine
70/30 PG/VG ratio
40ml Juice

This recipe is fairly strong on flavor. A bit tart and some sweet.
The flavorings on my recipe are about 10% of the overall juice, which is a bit stronger than average, most suggest 5% overall flavorings. The lime oil overpowers the rest if I reduce the amounts of the other flavors.

I shake and vape this one. It can steep for a few days and becomes more subtle with age.

Yes, all you need is to add flavor and don't make the same mistakes I did :)

I couldn't get a lot of my TFA flavors quite right yet... a lot of them either tasted perfume-y or needed a good steeping.

Is it normal that after a while of steeping, the flavor kind of... dissipates? I had made some Chai and it was good around day 3 or 4. But after about a week, all I could taste was the sweetener.

Yes, this happens. Often the flavors that really define the taste are the most volatile, and they will often just go, and sometimes quickly. I have noticed this will TFA pineapple. Keep those bottles closed when not using them!

All my DIY stuff is from Wizardlab and Ecigexpress. Whatever I mix from the chart I don't like it then I fix it with Sweet Cream, Oak Wood, and Pina Kolada depends on the base. I also, have Mentol for the worst case scenario but so far I like my juices after they are finished.

Try Hangsen flavors. A bit more expensive but far easier to work with and they taste great. Read the hangsen flavor thread

You may want to add a drop of TPA Sour or TPA Smooth in you juice. But only use a drop per 10ML, so it doesn't add taste it just balances the flavor. Also I hear people have good luck with Vape Wizard, so I have that in my vape mail. It does the same thing, but I guess it has some magic of making flavors really taste right.
