I have used Provari mini for years now...buying batteries is a pain... Can't find 18650 button tops!! Am I stuck with having to buy a box mod?? I like the tube type mods... I have used several Box mods and I guess I can get used to it but still I rather have the tube ones.

I also hate the drip tips, they're so huge!!

You could stick a magnet on the flat top making it a button top. If you search around I’m sure there’s info on which ones and where to buy. As far as the drip tips basically every tank can swap out the drip tip from an 810 to a 510. I’m guessing those are the ones you don’t like, I’m the same, way too big. Many tanks come with an adapter to switch it from the huge 810 to a 510. Otherwise myfreedomsmokes sells some adapters or if you wanna wait from China 3fvape and fasttech also sell the adapters.

Just checked my favorite battery vendor and they have button top LG HG2’s which if you’re not familiar are probably the best 18650 cell if you don’t vape really high wattage. I’m guessing you aren’t because your old school and using a Provari. The Lg’s are 3000mah and 20a discharge and the vendor in this link are a trusted vendor with great prices and service/

Edit: they have all the good 18650’s in button top and in stock. All except the Samsung 30q’s

The magnet issue has been discussed many a time and oft. Some are in favor and others have presented viable reasons NOT to use them.

I believe Provape advised against them and may have voided warranties if they were used. (I think.)

I'm sure some Provi'Natti will be around here in short order with more specific info.

Hello @violetdream, another possible idea for modding flat top batteries to button top could be to use a copper shim and some electrically conductive epoxy that is used in the electronics industry.

Yikes...a bit much but thank you! I am not about to try that, lol.

$39.93 Authentic Teslacigs Punk 86W VW APV Tube Mod - 7-86W / 1*18650 at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

The Teslacigs Punk 86W is a cool looking tube mod that takes one 18650 battery. I have one of the 85W box mod versions, and it's been great. Performs well at 7W. Nice mod for under $40.

No worries, it was only an idea. As I thought that it may be a little safer than using a magnet. As if the magnet slips, could it cause a short?

There's also Ehpro 101 Pro, this is the kit in Stainless as no Stainless mods in stock. But other colours are available.
$54.18 (Free Shipping) Authentic EHPRO 101 Pro 75W TC VW APV Mod Kit (101 Pro, SS Color) at m.FastTech.com

But if you want to spoil yourself a little and because you deserve it, the Dani 25 looks interesting.

Both of these mods can use 21700 batteries, and as you're a low wattage vaper a Samsung 40T 4000mah battery would last you a fair while between charges.
