It might be worthwhile for those of us with calipers to start documenting screw diameters and lengths for various RBAs and RTAs.
IMHO that is one thing that reviewers should be doing.
Where to get parts, what parts to get, how to repair, etc.
They should be teaching survival skills to vapers.
After all the ones in the US will have no new products to review after August.

I'm in Lexington. Folks live down the way from the power station on the way to your parts.
Ahh down towards Ford then.
Another member here Boden lives in Lexington. He is a good hardware person.
But MIA here for a while... Gotta send him a text.
I actually live about 10 miles east of Winchester.

I wonder if it will be illegal to repair mods?
Might be a good retirement job for me?

Nearish to Ford. :) Fayette County side. I've been wondering the same thing about repairs.

I don't know much about RTAs, I don't use them. But as for RDAs, whether they use Phillips head screws, or grub screws, just about everything will be M2, M2.5, or M3. If it's American made, they may be 4-40. I get my spare screws from McMaster Carr.

I personally have never had a mod "break". Sure I've dropped one before, but never from intended use has a mod failed on me yet. I figure a few IPV D3 or 2's will hold out for decades if need be.

I've wondering what a realistic life expectancy for a regulated 18650 mod is. 2 years? 4 years? If they will work for 3 years on average, I've got enough.

I've got EGO style batteries that still hold a charge after a few years. The mods I have, I think they would fail about as often as a stereo or a cell phone might. I imagine, with proper care, a mod could conceivably last 20 years.

got me. Most of them have only been out for 2 years or less. Depends on the mod and how you treat it.

I am a low wattage vaper and have been using the same ncr18650b for the last 2.5 years. They are only 6.8 amps but I have about 6 of them and they are still going strong. I have much higher amp batteries also and I alternate through about 30 of them. I buy batteries everytime I hit a sale. From what I've seen the more you have to rotate through the better they last. These are not the best batteries for vaping but was all that was available way back when vaping started. I will still use them at low watts just to see how long they make it.

I got spare screws for Lemos. Found the details in a Lemo thread. Quite a few of them are probably already documented somewhere on ECF. Maybe someone could set up a spread sheet or word doc and people could add anything they had details for.

What I would like to know is how to measure O-rings. I looked that up on the internet. Someone showed a cone shaped thing that you could drop an oring on and find its internal diameter. It had slots around the bottom for measuring the thickness. But it looked like it would only work for larger sizes. And then there's the flat washer shaped rings that fit on the ends of the glass sections. You would need 2 measurements in addition to the diameter. I think it would be hard to measure a soft silicon o-ring with a micrometer. The sites that sell o-rings stock a huge number of sizes. You can buy assortment packs on fasttech but that seems a bit hit or miss.

It's been a long time since I logged in (and my typing has not improved), but these deeming regs have me hopping mad, and determined to stockpile. I now have several Provaris and two I sticks, as well as a Reo and a couple of pipes. I don't know, unfortunately, how to rebuild coils, and I don't know if it's even possible for Nautilus Minis, which I'm using these days, or for Kabukis. My freezer is about to be graced with some base, and I will learn to DIY. I'm 64; I hope I can get by for as long as I have on this earth. But we should not have to be put into this position.

The biggest issue would be the fire button, I'm guessing you're more likely to have a high quality switch from Evolv but I've not seen any info on their mean time between failures. Hopefully it's in the millions. Luckily they put solder points for external buttons, if someone doesn't have the skills to remove the one on-board.
