I've been vaping for 6 years and rather than state my point directly I am going to state it indirectly.

I've been stockpiling since I started. In 2009 the FDA threatened vaping with foreseeable laws but an injunction stopped it. As a result I have tonnes of cartomozers, 306s and 510 attys. in 2011 we had another scare. I stockpiled juices and RBAs with tight airflow. In 2014 we had the deeming regs proposed and I got more juice and more now redundant hardware, some of it not even variable voltage much less variable power mode.

Thankfully for me I use everything from evods to powerful sub ohm tanks. I even use ego batteries at times and other premade fixed coils.

Stocking up beyond just a couple of years use doesn't make sense. Stocking up to the nth degree is a panic based approach for the worst case scenario. I highly doubt the future of vaping is so black and white that one day we can purchase anything we want and then suddenly the only thing that will exist on the market is 2007 cigalikes. Life is not that black and white. There will be black markets, overseas vendors, modified laws as a result of challenges in the legal system. There will be ways to circumvent the laws then as there is now. Marijuana is illegal but has that ever prevented anyone from smoking it ?

Stockpile sensibly. Surely most of us already have enough gear and juice to last at least 2 years. Anyone stockpiling with a view to be supplied for the next 5 to 10 years assumes they have a crystal ball to know exactly how the chips will fall well into the future. There is no avenue in life that can be that well planned for over 5 to 10 years. Things pan out with greater intricacy and unpredictability than we can ever hope to anticipate.

If this is the one thing that keeps you off of cigarettes and you have found what works for you, it seems sensible to me to accumulate enough to keep vaping in the style you prefer. In particular, the life cycle of products has shortened to the point that even without the FDA threat, many of us have built up a stock before it becomes "obsolete" and permanently unavailable. Thanks to clearances, that has been my sensible stockpiling strategy for some time. Not smoking is pretty much assured for years to come!

Hi Anthony ;) Excellent post!

But you didn't put a like my dear :)

Speaking of stockpiling, I am still vaping and loving that stash you sent me. It's all in the fridge and doing well. Caramel wildwood and Smooth Criminal are among my favorites :)

Well surely most of us have several RBAs already. We can possibly live without Sub ohm tanks if push came to shove when our last sub ohm tank fails us in 2022 but with a slew of RBAs surely kanthal and cotton to last a lifetime can be gotten for a few bucks.

The thought of having enough nicotine in my freezer to kill a small country just seems drastic and ghastly to me.

I think it's the other way round actually. I'm stockpiling precisely because I DON'T know how the chips will fall.

some credit card processors are already denying CC use from states that ban online purchases of tobacco products if buying vape gear online. If the vendor happens to be in a state that bans online purchases of tobacco products.... Well they are or soon will be pretty much dead in the water for online sales.

It's interesting that many of us assume vapers will choose to become coil builders out of necessity when most are not currently doing so and have little idea of what Ohm's law is. We at ECF are typically much more involved and knowledgeable than the mainstream ecig user. Without heads or clearos, many will revert to smoking should availability be interrupted.

I hope they get informed and do stock up over time for that possibility. I agree that a two year window should be adequate for most to wean themselves off vaping or choose to start building.

so true^^^ I am constantly surprised at the lack of knowledge in most vape shops to things we all know and talk about here at ECF. Even get blank stares when I say NETS?

Cromwell - thanks for the info. Which vendors? Which states?

I dunno. Just gathered the info from posters on boards.
I suspected this would happen....
But as I understand it if either end of the transaction is in a state the bans online sales of tobacco products...

I've been holding off ordering a bunch of nic as I just made my first order of flavors to start out diy. Looks like I better hedge my bets and place an order for nic in bulk!

IMO, lack of selection on vape products will happen long before 2 years.

therefore, I have to advise people to stock up on what they enjoy today ... next year, the market could be a shadow of what we see today.
That's what i have been doing. Not just the regs taking stuff out, here recently, new products come out so fast that the previous stuff just goes away pretty fast,so when i find something i really like,i stock up on it before it gets bumped for the next best thing.
