I've been using PT2 tanks (and rebuilding the coils) almost since I started vaping. I love the ease of simply removing the old coil, dropping it into a cup of water to clean, put in a new coil and I'm good to go. When I get 5-10 in the cup I take them out to dry, sit down for a few minutes (that's all it takes), dry burn, re-wick and and add them back to my "good to go" container.

I did try a couple of KFL clones some time ago. Granted the flavor was much better, but I couldn't justify the extra time and effort involved to "fiddle" with them so I put them away and continued on with my PT 2's.

Because of this thread, I learned that the Kanger STM works with the PT2 coils. I can't remember who posted that but THANK YOU!!! Because of that post, and what the FDA is doing, I ordered 4 and received them yesterday. Today I will be ordering several more, and the spare parts (glass, base, o-rings) to go with them.

I LOVE this tank. The ease of the PT with the flavor of a rebuildable.

With the PT, the highest wattage I could run was 7.5W. Above that and it would taste burnt. I'm gradually, and cautiously, increasing the wattage on the STM and loving the flavor.

The only downside is that it does burn through juice faster than the PT. I "thought" I had enough nic stashed away to last the rest of my life (I'm in my 60's) but may have to add to that now. However, the nic buzz I'm getting tells me that I probably need to lower the % so I may be good after all. ;)

I'm seeing that too, as I try to help new Vapers prepare and stockpile. I've converted two ppl so far and am running out of time. So scary.

I have a friend who smokes and was half way interested in vaping but is hesitant due to the deeming. I'm going to try to work on her to switch tomorrow. I'd be more than happy to make her juice if she bought a liter of nic.

You should still have plenty of time, likely till late in 2018. Between now and then some vendors will close (seeing that already), while others will slowly begin reducing the number of flavors (e-liquids) they offer. I expect prices will begin to increase in the late 2017 to mid 2018 timeframe as vendors still in business seek to recoup FDA application and associated compliance costs. Mods, attys and gear will be OK through 2018 and newer versions/tech should be obtainable from China which is where I normally purchase most of my gear. The real problem (the reason I chose to stockpile early) is individual states may begin passing laws shortly after this August when everything has been -legally deemed- a "Tobacco product". Face-2-face transaction requirements (no internet/mail order purchases), excise taxes, partial bans or restrictions and etc are distinct possibilities many of us could suddenly/unexpectedly face. Illinois, Arkansas and Utah provides a glimpse of what the future holds in store and they're just getting started. I fear the impact of state legislation even more than federal regulation....

That is the thing about individual states. I recommend checking out if your state bans or has restrictions on online tobacco sales. Luckily for me I moved from Illinois to Tennessee over a year ago. Tennessee is very friendly and has no restrictions on online tobacco sales. I think this may give me more time on a couple things as long as said vendors would still be around. At least fasttech will. My main concern is nicotine. So I am making sure I have that last liter ordered to put me over the top. I just went up to 3mg when making juice the other day. For now I feel like I need more nic. I'm going through an episode and find that more nic calms me down. I may have to up it to 4mg until my episode is over with. Unfortunately for me, I'm manic depressive so I may fluctuate during certain times of the year. It's frustrating as hell.

I have 4 VTC minis in my FT cart waiting for the sale tomorrow...oh the madness...

My favorite budget reg mods are vtc, pico, and Cloupor Mini. Am I missing any other good reliable ones for under $50?

I'm trying to get my stash up to 16 or so. (8 each for wife and me). I don't need high power. 40-75 watts is plenty.

I have several of these: $25.75 Authentic SXK Nebula Zero Mini 60W TC VW APV Box Mod - 1*18650 / 1-60W / 200-600'F(100-300'C) / stainless steel at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

But YMMV. I gave one to a friend who has used it without problem for the last six months, at least.

I have 1 pico, 1 clouper mini + and several istick30's, 20's 10's and 1 100watt but I also have 1 KangerTech KBOX Mini 50W and it is actually my favorite. Fasttech offers them in white and black but they are not in stock right now. I have them in my wish list and plan on jumping on at least 2 of them when they do get them in stock.

$27.49 Authentic KangerTech KBOX Mini 50W VW Variable Wattage APV Box Mod - 1*18650 / 7-50W / zinc alloy / white at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

How many airflow bases, insulators and top caps should I be stocking up on?

Bases-One + at least one spare for each PT.
Insulators- I can dry burn and re-wick a coil several (4-5) times before it finally gives out. When it does, I usually replace the insulator (just because) when I replace the coil but also throw the old one in a spares container (just in case).
I think I have about 300 insulators so I think I'm set for the PT's
Top Caps- I think I've only had to replace 4 or 5 in the past 3 years but still have 100 new. Again, just in case.

My wife would love the white one. I'm going to get her 1 or 2 .

I love the buttons on my Cloupor. I'm going to get one more of those as well. I really like the cloupors. Great battery door and tight clicky buttons. I personally don't mind the 510 screw adjustor. I don't change tanks nearly as much as others. I'll often vape the same flavor in the same tank for a week straight. I break it up a little in between with a dripper on a different mod.

I like the Cloupor too. I have had zero problems with my pink one. Finish has stayed good. All bottoms good and tight. Magnets for battery door intact.

My Black Cloupor mini 30w took a header off the counter yesterday. Landed hard and parts went flying.

Put everything back together and kept on Vaping :D

You guys are killing me...now I need to order 2-3 more cloupors...

I really like the silicone sleeve even if it's a but of a pain to switch batteries. It just feels soft and rock solid at the same time. Plus if I drop it it won't splatter parts. Lol

I've actually been crazy lucky. I've never broken a glass tank or broken a mod by dropping it. I have killed an istick when I dropped it in the wash at the beach.

I have not been that lucky. Broke a few glass tanks and many many drip tips

I ordered plenty of spare glass. My luck is going to run out. I've dropped mods plenty of times. They just somehow land right. I'm due for some bad luck.

OTOH- I've grown quite fond of the PC tanks for kayfuns. I don't vape tank crackers. I originally bought them to lighten the 3.1s. But have since been using them quite a bit. And for 50 cents a shot it doesn't matter if I strip or break one. Imo- they look better on kayfuns than the 3 piece tanks. You get to see all the delectable juice in its entirety. Lol

Hi Rick,

I use PT2's ( and rebuild ) as well, but i vape at 10-12 watts. I use an aerotank AFC v2 though, so maybe that's why i don't get a burnt taste. Anyhow, i have been using the same two tanks for well over eighteen months now and i buy the coil parts from Lightning Vape. I was getting ready to search for a couple more PT2's and AFC v2 valves ( if they still sell them !), until i saw your post. What is a Kanger STM ? And what are the benefits over PT2's.

Thanks.

Sub Tank Mini Maz. If you close off all but one small hole it is close to a Protank. Open it is much more airy. It comes with a RTA and is easier to build than the Protank.
