If anyone wants to talk about BOOKS today I will respond!!!:)The Wiz!

Does anyone have a Kindle? I have one and it is great, but the problem is I am always ready about 6 or 7 books at one. It's nice that I can carry all the book around with me at one time in a small package.........

I wanted to get a Kindle - first found them on the web around January....but haven't been able to justify to myself the price tag... and the realization that I would have to spend more to make it as fully functional as I wanted....so I decided to blow all my discretionary spending money on ecigs instead...:D

Happy potter the half blood prince is what i have my snout burried into right now!

In recent times i have become rather enthralled in science fiction books, the 90's for me it was thrillers like fugitive by J M dillard, excellent! book to read almost more so than the movie rendition that followed many years later.

As for A K Rowling: The half blood prince the ridiculousness surrounding the release of this book has hit to new heights. If somebody 10 years ago would have told me that a child like fantasy book series would become so popular then i would have chastised them greatly as i was never into the Sci-Fi epics in my early years *Which was a shame as i never knew what i was missing out on but as the saying goes hindsight is 20 20 , By now just to read the next volume before everybody else has become an obsession, I probably wouldn't have believed it 10 or so years ago. Now if the Potter books where badly written, I would probably feel otherwise, but luckily Rowlings is rather good at it. But really, I'm having a hard time imagining anything as bad as TV... I am not as crash hot on the reviews i have seen an read about the movie itself (Half blood prince), critics are harsh on the harry potters latest story line, harry is old now the cuteness washed away over many chapters in this classic story line, With interests waning as consumers crave something new to peek there curiosity and stimulate there hungry minds , time to give it up? Or reinvent the young Wizard who has/is and always has been destin for greater things? …....just my offering of an opinion and thought for the thread:)~Rick

My son thought Eragon was ok, I don't think he was as enthusiastic about it as he was about harry potter. He does want to get the next book though.

Its something about a young boy who finds an egg and hatches it (a dragon) or something like that.. LOL I didn't read it! LOL
Lol Thats ok Wild i will give a lookcy and see whats up with Eragon ...great!! book sale in town tommorrow so i might get the ole credit card warmed up and ready to go;)

There is a book a want to check out, "New Moon" it's a young adult fantasy-romance novel by author Stephenie Meyer ..sounds interesting an has peeked my curiosity :)~Rick

umm.... it's a good thing I listen to books instead of read them. I can pop in the headphones and tune all the noise out. :D

Right now I'm listening to Paranoia by Joseph Finder - good book, almost finished.
donei.....I am an advid audio book listener also.....Currently listening to Drood by Dan Simmons...Kind of a Victorian setting involving Charles Dickens...very entertaining!:)The Wiz!

I've been a mamber of Audible.com since 2001 so that gets me two books a month. There have been times that I bought extra books on a given month. I have only come across 2 books that I couldn't get into, and one of them was last month. The other was sometime in 2002, I think.

I did install the Kindle reader on my iPhone and I actually read a book a few months ago. I think I would have enjoyed the book more if it was real. The iPhone is just not designed for reading a very long book.

Anyone here ever read anything by Diana Gabaldon?
