it is the newest one. ipv2s. no markings. recessed clicky butons. the cover fits right but I can grasp it and move it slightly side to side. if you screw these too tight they will strip. honestly this is fine just a minor gripe. I would not wiggle the top in normal usage. it makes sense that it would since only two screws are in the middle. try to wiggle your top.

it fits fine. I did not drop it. the battery cover can just be wiggled side to side a bit. the qc on these is not perfect. overall I think I got a goon one and I am pleased with it. I will try to figure out a way to fix this but it is not such a big deal. the strange thing is after I wiggle it the screws are no longer completely tight. perhaps a little thread lock since I charge usb. with blue thread lock I can still unscrew them if need be.

duh. I was afraid of stripping the screws. which is easy to do on these. it was just not screwed tight enough! problem fixed. I just suggest, do not torque these like a gorilla. just a tiny drop more and it is completely tight.

sorry I was so stupid.

I accidentally put the back of the ipv3 on not quite tight enough and I kept hearing this creaking sound when I clicked the button, I was like wth and so I tightened it up and the noise was gone. Glad your issue was similar and easily corrected.
