Wow, I see I'm entry #225 and on page 6 of this thread. haha, I had to say the page just because everyone always comments on the page number, not realizing that depends on the posts per page set in your preferences. Hey, I only get one post in this thread, so I ramble on ... good song, ramble on.

I had no plans to quit smoking, it wasn't even on my radar. I ordered one of those crappy scam kits out of curiosity. I'm a gadget guy and I viewed this newfangled thing as such. I was oblivious to the fact that this is a full blown industry and thought I was buying one of, perhaps, several models in existence.

I should have researched it first. But, after receiving the "kit" I finally decided maybe I should check it out online, which very quickly landed me here on ECF, where I was urged to immediately send the kit back and cancel. Which I did.

I received my KR808D-1 at 9:40 in the morning on January 15, 2010. Two hours later, I took my first vapes. That's all she wrote. This Friday I will be eight weeks 'almost' smoke free. I've got a huge stash of cigarettes (cartons) which I'll likely throw in the trash this Tuesday. Two or three times I've lit a cigarette, to see if they would be as good as I remembered. I could only handle a drag or two. They were horid tasting!

So, with those couple exceptions, smoke free and craving free since 1/15/2010

OH: I smoked 1 to 2 packs a day for over 35 years.

My husband and I both have quit smoking for the past six months using 510's and Vapor Kings. I used to smoke 2 packs a day and he smoked 1 pack a day. I originally ordered an e-cig to be able to smoke inside this winter at work but we both have effortlessly given up cigarettes and are currently reducing the strength of our nicotine. I had tried every other method available including the inhaler, Chantix, acupuncture, gum, patches. He had quit several times cold turkey but always started back up in a few weeks. I have convinced both of my daughters who smoke to try PV's and even set them up. So far they are really impressed. We have 8 grandbabies between us and always worried about the 2nd hand smoke around them. Neither one of us cough every morning like we used to do and we both feel much healthier.

I was determined to quit this time. It was a very easy transition for me, easier than I thought it would be. I had tried the patch, gum and the lozenges before and nothing worked. To me vaping is as close as you can get to actually smoking, placebo effect or whatever you want to call it. I've been analog free for over a month now after smoking them for 37+ years.

I started one day after you, BellBottomBlues (good song btw). Haven't had a single puff from an analog since. Don't believe I ever will again either. I'm also cutting back on my vaping (I was a madman the first 6 weeks), and am down to essentially vaping Lorann's chocolate hazelnut flavoring with VG juice. My nic intake is almost zero at this point, with a few drops of 26ml added once or twice a day.

I quit analogs 3 weeks ago today. With little to no effort at all, thanks to e-cigs. I could have never done it otherwise. I am very thankful to have found these. I smoked analogs for 23+ years. Through asthma and COPD, and still have no desire to give up analogs until the e-cig came along. They have truly changed my life.

I feel a need for this thread:

I have to say I have had alot of trouble trying to quit smoking. The Patch, Nicorette even prescription drugs. Nothing worked. And although e-cigs are "technically" not a stop smoking device I believe it has helped alot more of us out than we recognize.

So if everyone who has completely stopped smoking due to the e-cig make one post, we can get a honest running total on how many of us this has truly helped. Maybe even be able to show someone out there who wants to ban this how truly important it is to keep going.

Just my thoughts. It has made a big difference in my life and it has been less than a month. I thank e-cigs. Lets here who else it has helped.

Only those who have completely quit smoking please.
I did, tried Chantix, and it didn't work, this has..................
