Stopped 5 months ago. I was slightly tempted this month as I went out of town and was the only one vaping amongst many analog smokers and my atomizers were acting up BUT I hung in there and did not partake. I can actually smell things again!! On the downside I am married to a smoker and now I realize how much analogs reek... I am trying hard not to be an annoying ex smoker but wow those analogs smell awful now.
Have friends that smoke, and yikes, like you, I hold my tongue, don't wanna be an ole naggie x-smoker, but that smell, is in a class by itself, how did people put up with me???????????????

I bought my DSE901 Sept. 2009 and liked it enough to quit analogs right away. Oct. 1-5 smoked analogs on vacation. Got home and went back to vaping. I kept reading how everyone loved the Joye 510 and the great deal at cignot.com. Love it! Have not had an analog since. I still battle with the taste issue. But for the most part am very happy with my choice. Not coughing anymore is awesome! BTW, still using the same batts that came with my 510 kit going on 6 months now. They are slowing down but still working. I did get one mega batt for my 510 and it works great.

I quit 12/7/09. I was in my local tobacco shop to buy cigs and they had a display of 510's for $130 including 20ml juice, so I gave myself a Xmas present. Then I found this forum and know I paid way too much. I now have 5 bats, 4 attys,1 passthrough and have a big bat mod on the way. I smoked for >50 yrs and had tried all the stop smoking aids including 2 Rx's of Chantix. The e-cigs work!!

I started vaping in the middle of January 2009, and stopped completely with the analogs in two days... After a week, I realized that given the choice, I would never go back to analogs again, so I gave away all my lighters, and two unopened packs that were still with me. In these past fourteen months, I believe I have smoked no more than half a dozen cigarettes. Not because I had any craving for them, but mostly out of curiosity, as in "Let's just see how this quitting thing has evolved..." Well, the first I had was an exact month after quitting, and even then, the darn analog already tasted like crap... 8-o
BTW, when I said "half a dozen", I meant that literally: less than a dozen analogs, smoked by half, because of the way they tasted :D
Incredible, because I used to smoke 20-25 analogs a day, for over 20 years. And in just two days, there, it's gone, no more cravings for a real cigarette... buying my first e-cigarette (A Janty Classic, if I recall) was the best thing I did for myself in the past few years...

I'll be 3 months smoke free on march 15. woo hoo! I was only hoping to cut down when I got my PV. I did cut down immediately from 1 1/2 packs, to 10 cigs, to 5, to 2, then I noticed one evening that i hadn't had a smoke all day. Smoked for 30+ years, would panic if i had less than a 1/2 pack, and just "noticed" that i hadn't smoked.

I had about 5 cigs in the week that followed, and have never opened the "just in case" pack of regular cigs that has been riding around in the glove box of my car for not quite 3 months. .

Took up vaping and quit smoking last week. I will never smoke or touch an analog again. Had already made my mind up to switch to e-cigs completely, and did so when the first starter kit arrived in the mail (an 801). The most difficult part has been to give up the analog associated habits, all psychological and nothing to do with the physical addiction to nicotine. The huge benefits of vaping make it much easier to let go of these other habits. E-cigs are a god-send! I can't believe I smoked for so many years!

HOLY SNIKIES!

Something that finally actually works!

I have tried with the patch, I have tried with gum, I even managed to continue smoking with Bronchitis!

Will I eventually quit E-cigs? Maybe, but right now I don't care in the slightest. The fact that I've gotten away from "analog" cigarettes is such a frikkin tremendous step for a heavily addicted smoker, and the health differences are very noticeable.

I can breathe easier. I can smell things again! I can actually jog with my dog and last longer than 5 minutes! My teeth don't feel all gunky, I smell better to people around me... I could go on and on and on.

Yes, Nicotine itself is still a harmful substance...but it is so mild in comparison to everything else that comes with tobacco.

It would be such a terrible, misguided, and selfish tragedy if the government curtailed further development and improvement of these things by the private market.
