Something isn't right there. It shouldn't be melting like that. I've been using those same nylons for a while now with no issue. Is a part of the coil laying up against the insulator?
If it were made of material that conducts electricity it wouldn't be an insulator anymore. It has to be a plastic.

can someone tell me where do i get the o-rings, spring on the center postive post and washers ? i don't know their sizes so i don't know what to look for ... My nuts and washers are turning black for some reasons i'm not sure why...
