Finally received my orion v 2.1 direct from NoSmoker. With all I'd read about how finicky this APV is, I was really worried about getting her up & running. This is only my second experience with a Genesis atomizer, the first being a Zenesis.

I am thrilled, but nervous, to report that I had her up & running spectacularly in no time. I am praying it's not beginner's luck. vaping just beautifully - my only concern is that the top cap & top cap threads are covered in juice in no time. I'm using bograt's 510 cap. No big deal to wipe it out frequently but, ummm, is this normal?

I would say its normal as long as the juice isnt running down the side ofbthe tank or anything like that.

FWIW I have found a smaller wick to work best in my orion 2.1
almost the same size as a stock zen wick if you have seen those.
I made my last one to fill about 3/4 of the wick hole and it works great

Wow. Just wanted to say thanks crash for this tip. What a difference for me of what was already a very impressive vape. with the 3/4 trick it's now over the top on my taste buds. Cheers! :toast:

Yes! This method may have just saved the Orion for me! I rolled the thinnest (maybe 1.75mm?) solid #400 wick, and wrapped PK style to equal 1.8 ohms, then pulled the pos. wire so that the coil leans topward (is that a word?) to the post, and fianally! Bliss!
Also added a small O ring at the bottom of the threads so I can position the airhole (is that a word?) to where I like it.
Cool beans!

Are any of you plugging the other wick hole?

Not me! Should I? I thought this would cause vapor-lock.

Oh, and cracked- I got my spare parts yesterday! Thanks again!
Which brings to mind another question: Are there any links to how to videos out there, showing how this is put together, and taken apart?

Yes, emonty posted a link in this thread to series of pictures of how to take her apart.

No you shouldn't plug it, was just curious with all the posts about the wicks here recently.

I use to do a 45mm #500 wick rolled tight enough to fill 3/4 of the hole and it worked great.

Then I started doing a 60mm #500 rolled to basically just fit in the hole and it works even better.
