Hey, so I tried a new coil (foolishly- as the other one was just fine! Derp!) and got harsh hits again, so I broke down and did a twisted dual coil, 32G Kanthal 6/7warap = 1.5ohm +or-, Zero hot spots or harshness. This thing is a DC beast!
I am horrible at math and the Ohms calculator hurts my head... can someone tell me how many watts this set up is pushing?
Is it safe?

Two 1.5 ohm coils comes out to 0.75 ohm total.

3.7v / 0.75 ohm = 4.93 amps

3.7v * 4.93amps = 18.25 watts


Plenty safe. Switch has a 10amp limit. AW's can push out alot more then that. I run my juggernaut at 27watts, nearly 8 amps.
