Would that be Vin? I've been meaning to try one of his modules.
Vinh is great to deal with he will build about whatever you want at a fair price. If you don't see it listed just shoot him a email.

Its just in our nature (humans) to take any and everything to the extreme. Examples: alcohol, RC vehicles, clothing, lawn mower racing lol.
P.S. just examples not mine.
Convoy S series and C8 from FT makes some VERY good "budget" lights
My current EDC is a Convoy S5, w 8*7135 nanjg driver at 2.8A (I put custom firmware on the driver but stock is good as well) and T6-4C tint emitter

Hey flashlight gurus, my wife has given me the green light to buy a little better flashlight than the China stuff I've been using. I'm looking at the flashlights at Battery Junction. Is this one of the better suppliers? Any help would be appreciated. I'd like to stay under $50.

Still some black Friday deals going. This is good one, uses button top 18650 or 2- cr123 cells.
OK, I'm a logger and I use my flashlight every day--sometimes for hours if I have to deal with a break-down at 5:00 AM starting time. What I want is an 18650 flashlight with a low light mode for working in close quarters--not that much need for long-range stuff although I don't want to dismiss that capability. I also would like it to have a clip for the bill of my cap. I know most high-end flashlights clip the other way but this is what I'm hoping to find.
Nice!
I don't think you'd want any 18650 light clipped onto your hat. They're about 5 oz (150g) or more usually.
The one that KDM posted is a pretty solid choice. 6hrs runtime at 210 lumens (pretty damn bright for close quarters), 28hrs at 50 lumens (about what a 3 D cell mag light puts out). Only down side I can see is that it requires a button top cell. And with most flashlights, you'll need IC protected batteries.
I have a bunch of lights and my go to light is an Olight S10 single CR123a light. I use LiFePo4 batteries (6 batts and charger for $20). These batteries are rated for over 2000 cycles while LiIon's are usually 300-500 cycles (full charge/discharge). The clip reverses and it's not too heavy so you could clip it to your hat. It also has a magnet on the end to stick up somewhere while you work.
Olight S10 Neutral LED Flashlight 360 Lumens Cree XM-L2 Neutral White LED Uses 1 x CR123 $37.47
Tenergy RCR123A 3.0V (3.2V) 750mAh Rechargeable LiFePO4 Li-Ion Battery 6 Pack Kit with AC/DC Smart Charger (39055) $19.95
Another great choice:
Olight M20S Special Ops S Warrior Tactical LED Flashlight with CREE XP-G Gen2 R5 LED 420 Lumens - Uses 2 x CR123A or 1 x 18650 $30
(I have the M20 SX, paid $80)
Thanks, I'll look through the choices. For what its worth, you can hang an 18650 light off the bill of your cap. I do it with one of the China-made $10 jobs. I'm not saying its pleasant and something you'd want to do for long but when you need both hands free for a few moments--it works and thats what I'm talking about.
I've used a little single AA Gerber light for probably 10 years now in this capacity. It has performed admirably but there have been times when I could have used just a tad more light. As my vision has diminished with age, I could use even a bit more light still. I'm just trying to hedge my bets.![]()
I hear ya about diminished vision with age but with the selection of lights I have, clipping a 18650 light to my cap has never come to mind.
I use one of these when I go camping:
Amazon.com : Princeton Tec Fuel Headlamp, Black : Camping Headlamps : Sports & Outdoors
The little single cell type lights I have are pretty powerful and light enough to clip to your cap for extended periods and they're also useful as your main light. Even while camping, I bring my 900lm 18650s but hardly ever use them other than showing off to my friends. I keep a 2x AA Olight T25 in my truck and that replaced my 3x D cell Maglite. It's much brighter and you can find AA batteries everywhere.
I'm a big fan of Olight, EagleTac, Surefire, Nitecore and Sunwayman. All offer solid choices for what you want at pretty decent prices.
Thanks for the comebacks. I sure appreciate them. I may well be asking for something that just isn't available today. I just hate seeing all these old protected 18650 batteries sitting here with nothing to do and I'm buying AA's for my work flashlight. Doesn't that seem wrong to you?![]()
