Handsome light but it wouldn't work for me. I want the pocket clip facing the opposite direction so I can clip it on the bill of my cap to free both hands. I know most aren't made that way but a few are and that's the first thing I look for. Its just me.:)

I've got lights I clip to the bill of my cap too, but they won't accept a 18650. I have headlamps that do if I need more power and longer runtime.

TRUE STORY! Surefire is great stuff but$$$$$$. Try Sunwayman, Nitecore, Thrunite. I was a flashlight geek long before ecigs.

I have 2 Surefire's that weren't too expensive. FT has Sunwayman V10r for $40 (I paid $75 on sale). My 2nd favorite single cr123 batt light. I also like Olight and EagleTac.

$40.96 Sunwayman V10R-U2 Cree U2 2-Mode 190-Lumen Fully Variable Output Tactical Flashlight - 1*CR123A at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Don't forget Fenix!!
TK35UE....."Super Torch"!!:D
Nitecore MT40 ain't too shabby, either!!!;)
Happy (vaping) Trails!

Never been a fan of Fenix. I had a few and they all had quality issues. The only one I own now is the E01 and I never use that either

I do like the TK45 though.

Fenix PD35, Nitecore P12 and Olight m18 striker are all fantastic choices. My favorite of that list is definitely the PD35. I carry my mods spare battery in my flashlight when I'm out and about.
Fenix, Nitecore, Olight and Sunwayman all make great lights. There's a few others i cant think of right now

don't take this the wrong way, but...

do flashlight hobbyists do the equivalent of "cloud chasing" competitions?

No not really. I'm a member of candlepower forums. There is a lot of boasting and debate about how bright, floody or throwy a certain beam is from flashlights. There are also members who who custom modify peoples flashlights, to the point where they require high drain batteries for safety reasons. There's a guy who can modify my 950 lumen PD35 to put out close to 1500 lumens, and that's a big jump
