I ordered my first PV from China. Big mistake. They are great for ordering spares or stocking up on stuff but when it's something you want right away you are better off getting it from a local vendor who already got it through customs. Especially right before Christmas.

It arrived on December 26. In the next 5 days I smoked the same amount I used to smoke in one day (1 pack on the first day, half on each of the next 4.) On the 6th day I woke up and thought I should go get a pack. Then I thought I'd try waiting a little while. I'm still waiting. :D

ETA: And, while I've been waiting, I've saved $33,000 and haven't smoked over 60,000 cigarettes.

My V8 just bit the dust! I had low power display so I put in fresh batteries and it went to 5.0v as normal and then immediately to Lo as soon as I tried to adjust the voltage down. I tried another set of batteries and same thing. Has anyone else had a problem like that? I have a couple of LT's but I was liking the power on the V8. I do have a Rocket coming in the mail and it also uses 18350s stacked so maybe it will be similar.
:tumble:

Whats a rocket?

It is a VV that Gotvapes is testing in their Alpha program. They are not for sale to the public yet. It is kind of a cool program if you like to try new things. They sell them for a discount price for you to test them and give them feed back. Then they decide if they want to stock them a sell them to everyone.

My V8 arrived. Tips on getting the back off for battery insertion would be greatly appreciated (without breaking it -- I can do that without tips)

ETA:
Never mind. Got it. Then came the fight to get the batteries in without pushing the springs out of the way. Won that one too. Will report back later.

Just press down firmly, and push. It is tight and you will feel like you are going to break it but you won't. I havent broke mine....Yet lol now I probably jinxed myself.

Alright, those 18350s I just got from CCV aren't working in my V8. First off, they're slightly taller than my other 18350s and were a little tough to fit in the V8.

http://www.crystalclearvaping.com/D...y-with-top-button-single-or-pairs-_p_136.html

After pressing them in, the power button started blinking and wouldn't stop, so I took the batts out and put the regular ones back in and it's back to normal again.

Weird, because those 18350's from CCV work just fine in The Gripper and Lavatube mini.

I use a silicone fingerdom used for facials and squeezing of blackheads aghhhhh hehe.. Remembered I had such a thing when I couldn't open mine and had to resort the the kitchen silicone oven mitt. I'm guessing any little piece of some kind of non slip silicone will work.

I wonder if that was the problem with Tumbleweed's V8? CCV is put them on sale because they are a little too long for their mod. (The batteries are all made you-know-where. I guess 35mm is a less precise measurement there. (Actually, measuring mine, it looks like it's 35mm to the top of the battery but the nipple adds a little. Maybe the V8 prefers batteries that are 35mm high including the nipple.)) It would have been nice if the battery compartment were a mm or two longer. The purpose of the spring is to make the connection with batteries that are a tiny bit too short but you can't do anything if they are a tiny bit too long.

My first set of CCV batteries went to "Lo" in less than an hour (but "recharged in 10 minutes.) The second set has been doing fine. Fingers crossed.

The vaping is excellent. I don't find that it's hitting harder than my MBMs which are around 4.8V, but it is hitting equally hard. I tried around 4.3 for a while but am now doing 4.8.

That is what started it to act up alright when I first put in the batteries from CCV. I couldn't get it to work with my AW's after that either. I don't think I will be using anything but AW's on my next one.
I agree the battery compartment and springs could be improved very easily. The batteries from CCV work in my Mini Lava but the cap doesn't screw all the way down. I guess the bargain wasn't such a great deal after all. lol
